A set-up call refers to a defined number of personnel in the event industry who are responsible for setting up a specific area of an event. If the set-up call is specified in the stage direction, which is usually the case, the call includes the set-up of the touring equipment. This includes the backline, decoration, sound and lighting technology and electrical cabling. The organisation and provision of this personnel is the responsibility of the temporary employment agency and its dispatchers, who are contracted by the organiser. This usually includes, for example, riggers, grounders, scaffolders, stagehands, runners, electricians and forklift drivers.
