Curfew

In the event industry, curfew often refers to the latest time that a band or theatre crew should leave (= curfew). But the term"curfew"does not always just refer to the time of departure. It can also mean that the concert or event must be over by the time of the curfew so that peace and quiet can be restored. After the curfew, it is quite possible that the dismantling will still take place.
Curfew is derived from the French term "couvre feu". In modern French, couvre feu refers to a specific period of the day, usually in the evening or early morning, during which it is forbidden to drive in the street. Etymologically, the expression was coined by the fact that in the Middle Ages in France there was a curfew at which all candles burning in the house had to be extinguished at the latest in order to avoid the risk of fire.
