Stage Directions

The stage directions are orientation guides for artists and stagehands. The audience perceives the stage positions exactly mirror-inverted. No matter in which direction you look, stage right remains stage right. Apart from stage right and stage left, the stage directions downstage, upstage and centre are also named.
