Which exhibition carpet for the exhibition floor?
Every expo and event carpet has different advantages. For more information, please refer to the sections on the individual products:
Rips exhibition carpet – the classic with a fine structure in 1 and 2 metre widths
The Rips carpet is the classic among exhibition carpets and a hard-wearing and particularly easy-care floor covering. It can be easily vacuumed or cleaned with a brush and mild soapy water. Messerips is suitable for a wide range of uses at events. When viewed from the side, its surface has a fine structure (ribbing), which runs lengthwise and should be taken into account when laying.
Dimensions and colours: You can purchase Rips trade show carpets in our online shop in a standard selection of 19 colours, as rolls with a length of 50 metres in widths of 1 and 2 metres.
Flat felt carpet with/without foil covering – quicker to lay
Felt carpets, often referred to as exhibition velour, are among the most modern exhibition carpets. Flat felt has a visually smooth surface consisting of interwoven (felted) carpet fibres. This felt carpet offers two advantages over rip carpet: The exhibition carpet has no structure that needs to be taken into account during installation and can therefore be laid quickly and without much waste, from all sides, with the edges butted together. You can order the flat felt carpet in our shop with or without protective film: thanks to the PE film cover, the exhibition carpet is protected from dirt when laid and remains clean until shortly before the start of your event.
Dimensions and colours: You can purchaseflat felt carpet with foil in our online shop in a selection of the 11 most popular colours, as a 2 m wide roll with a length of 50 m, without foil in 4 colours.
Carpet tiles – easy to clean, reusable and very easy to lay yourself
Carpet tiles are also an ideal floor covering for events of all kinds. Carpet tiles offer many advantages over carpet rolls. With tiles, you have much more flexibility in terms of design and appearance. Lay the tiles in a chequerboard pattern or mix the different colours to suit your style. The 50 x 50 cm and 100 x 100 cm tiles can be easily exchanged and reused as often as you like.
Needle felt velour – high-quality exhibition carpet in 200 cm rolls
The material used to manufacture this modern floor covering is polypropylene. The felted polypropylene fibres give the carpet many positive properties. The needle felt has the look of classic velour. It is robust, hard-wearing and particularly easy to care for and, particularly important for public events, flame-resistant (B1). The carpet is available in rolls with a width of 200 cm and a length of 30 m. The selection of 7 different colours includes the popular exhibition colours. If you would like a different colour or a 300 cm wide carpet, please feel free to contact us personally: +49 89-122 89 06 22

Information about the material of exhibition carpets – affordable and high-quality exhibition floor covering
Rips, needle felt and flat felt (exhibition velour) Exhibition carpet flooring is made from 100% polypropylene (PP). The advantages of this material are its low price and high durability. In addition , polypropylene carpets are particularly easy to care for and hard-wearing. If the carpets are stored on rolls, they can be reused at any time.
The printable carpet, a genuine velour,, is made of 100% polyamide 6. With a thickness of 6 mm, the exhibition carpet is thicker than Rips carpet (3 mm) and is more durable and of higher quality. Due to the very smooth velour surface, lint and dirt may be more easily visible, depending on the print image.
All exhibition carpets have good heat resistance and can be laid without any problems over underfloor heating and also for short-term outdoor use.

Information about exhibition carpet quality
Did you know? Whether reps, needle felt or flat felt, often incorrectly referred to as exhibition velour due to its smooth surface, these are classified as needle felt or needle fleece quality in carpet manufacturing . This quality is achieved by producing a "felted", i.e . densely needled, fleece layer from individual carpet fibres, which is then pressed. A genuine velour carpet, on the other hand, is manufactured using the tufting process. The carpet fibres are not arranged intertwined but side by side and then trimmed to a smooth length at the top. This creates a velour surface, familiar from classic living room carpets, which is particularly comfortable to walk on and leaves visible "traces" when vacuumed.
Velour carpet with individual design – high quality for special trade fairs and events
Would you like to bring a very special design to your exhibition stand? Would you like to have a motif, logo or the lettering of your event printed on a carpet? Then choose velour carpet. Special printing is possible in relatively high quality and high resolution.
Dimensions and colours: The printed velour comes in a standard width of 4 m and the roll is 25 m long. You can choose between 5-colour or 12-colour printing in almost photo-realistic quality.
Exhibition carpets as floor coverings for outdoor & indoor use
Trade fair carpets are not only inexpensive floor coverings, they also offer a whole host of advantages. Whether as event carpets, wedding carpets in churches and other rooms or classic carpets for exhibition stands, trade fair carpets improve room acoustics in indoor areas and have a sound-absorbing effect. As a covering, the Rips carpet is also sound-absorbing.
All exhibition carpets are hard-wearing and easy to clean. Light soiling can be vacuumed, treated with a brush in places or removed with mild soapy water. Caution: printed carpet is sensitive to moisture. The colours may run if wet!
All exhibition carpets are quick and easy to lay. Rips and flat felt carpets can be cut without any problems, do not shed fibres and do not produce any dust when laid.
At an event or on an exhibition stand, exhibition carpet is often used indoors, and laying it over underfloor heating is no problem thanks to its generally good heat resistance. As an event carpet, a carpet runner can of course also be laid outdoors for a short period of time.
But be careful! Exhibition carpets are sensitive to extreme temperature fluctuations. Polypropylene can become brittle at sub-zero temperatures in winter. The critical temperature threshold for PP carpets is approx. -7°C to -12°C. If an exhibition carpet is to remain in place for longer than approx. 7 days in winter, a mixed fabric made of polypropylene with a proportion of polyamide should be used.
Extreme wetness: As with any textile floor covering, a real cloudburst with heavy rain will cause the floor coverings to become slippery.
Exhibition carpet – tips for laying
A B1 carpet is particularly quick and easy to lay. Expo Rips and Expo Velours can be easily cut to size using a cutter or scissors. The carpets are particularly adaptable when laying around corners and edges. Need help with laying? We have contacts throughout the country who are specialists in laying exhibition carpets professionally on site.
Would you like to lay the carpet yourself? This is no problem!
-
For full-surface carpeting for a temporary event, we recommend fixing with double-sided adhesive tape. In small rooms, the carpet can be fixed exclusively at the edges. For larger areas, additional cross-bonding in the centre prevents the exhibition carpet from slipping and creasing.
-
Carpet runners are popular on red carpets and at VIP events as welcome carpets in entrance areas. The mostly narrow strips of exhibition carpet can be fixed to the side edges of the carpet.
-
If the carpet is laid permanently, e.g. as wall covering or as covering for platforms and stage elements, the exhibition carpet can also be glued over the entire surface.
-
Are you expecting significant temperature fluctuations, for example outdoors? Or in an unheated exhibition hall? Then we recommend laying the carpet on a carpet grid (laying grid). This prevents the floor covering from curling. A laying net also offers the advantage that the exhibition carpet does not have to be glued to the floor over a large area. This prevents sensitive floor coverings from being damaged by adhesive residue and makes dismantling quicker.
Please note that carpet tiles are laid differently than carpet from a roll. The tiles are self-lying and do not necessarily need to be glued. You can find out how best to lay the carpet in detail in the comprehensive instructions at the end of the carpet tile product page.

Disposing of exhibition carpets
The environmentally friendly synthetic fibre is easy to dispose of. The chemically manufactured wool of the exhibition floor coverings consists of 100% PP. Exporips and Expovelours floor coverings can be disposed of professionally at all public recycling centres, usually free of charge. The recycling code for PP exhibition carpets is 05.
Costs of disposing of exhibition carpets
If you do not want to dispose of the carpet yourself at trade fairs, there are often extra costs for exhibition carpet disposal. But what exactly does carpet disposal cost? Depending on the exhibition hall, fees of approx. £1 per m² currently apply.
