The flat felt carpet is B1-certified to DIN 4102 and Bfl-s1 to the European standard – flame-retardant, approved for use at events with public attendance. Exhibition carpets with a protective foil covering are particularly practical floor coverings for events and trade fairs and are also pleasant to walk on. They are easy to lay and can be planned by the exhibition stand builder at any time – the carpet remains clean until the last moment. The protective foil is only removed shortly before the event.

Whether at a public event or for use in exhibition stand construction, this textile floor covering is designed for temporary indoor installation and short-term outdoor use. The protective foil prevents the carpet from getting dirty too quickly during installation and saves having to lay a separate protective foil. The foil can be easily peeled off the surface of the exhibition carpet shortly before the start of the event.

What is an exhibition carpet made of? And what is the difference between it and Messerips?
Exhibition carpets are very popular for temporary laying at trade fairs, premieres, galas, exhibitions and other events due to their extremely low price and their extremely durable carpet fibres (polypropylene). However, if you look at it closely, a needle felt carpet is not a carpet in the traditional sense and should not be compared either visually or to the touch with a living room carpet. A conventional wall-to-wall carpet is either woven by hand or manufactured using the so-called tufting process . In simple terms, the tufting machine produces carpet loops that are then either left as a loop pile carpet or sold as a cut-pile carpet (loops cut off in the middle), depending on the desired surface appearance.
Event carpets are different: trade fair carpeting and exhibition felt belong to the group of needle felt or needle fleece floor coverings, which are manufactured using the so-called needle-punched process. This type of production uses the basic fibres of the carpet to create tightly interwoven (needled), extremely durable fleece layers, which are then offered as a single-layer carpet (flat felt carpet for the exhibition and event industry) or a multi-layer carpet (felt carpet for industrial and commercial construction). At the end of the manufacturing process, the fibrous fleece coverings are impregnated (finished) – for example, to make the Messerips / trade fair felt antistatic, to impregnate it against dirt or to make it flame retardant.
Incidentally, according to the definition (DIN 61151), an exhibition floor of this kind is a "textile floor covering made of mechanically and additionally adhesively bonded fibre fleece".
Conclusion: whether you choose ribbed or flat felt carpet, both floor coverings are needle felt carpets and differ only in their surface appearance, not in their quality.
