Printing on nonwovens 300 g/m² – inexpensive carpet for trade fairs and events

With nonwovens, you can turn a bare exhibition floor into a colourful flower meadow in no time at all, give your POS a chic parquet floor or your gala a custom-printed red carpet – and all for very little money!

Whether as an inexpensive alternative to exhibition carpets, expensive parquet or wooden floorboards, individually printed fleece is perfect as a temporary floor covering for trade fairs, events, commercial premises and much more.

The soft, felt-like fabric made of polyester fleece offers excellent print quality, is particularly easy to process and is also sound-absorbing, moisture-resistant, heat-insulating and non-reflective. Important for floor coverings at events and public gatherings: the 300 g fleece is B1 flame retardant and classified as Bfl-s1 (EN 13501-1).

For fastening, we recommend double-sided adhesive tape, which you can order from our shop from a wide range of products.

Fleece carpet cut to size

There are no finishing options for fleece in our configurator. Why? When used as carpet, fleece is simply attached with double-sided adhesive tape. And even if you use the fleece for other purposes, it is so easy to attach that no finishing is necessary! We cut the fleece to size exactly according to your specifications.

You can glue, staple, nail or attach the cut fleece as desired using cable ties or thin wire. To do this, simply cut small holes in the fleece, ideally 5 cm from the edge inwards. This ensures that the material remains tear-resistant and is securely fastened!

Printing on nonwovens – details on print quality

Materials with a textile structure are generally easy to print on, as fabric absorbs the printing inks well. We print on nonwovens using solvent-free 6c digital printing. The closed, smooth surface can be printed in high resolution with razor-sharp, colours. The digital printing process also enables perfect colour gradients. Only the soft, felt-like surface feel makes the colours appear slightly less bright than on coated fabrics such as display fabric.

We print on nonwovens on one side. The material is opaque but not completely light-proof, which should be taken into account when using it as fence covering, for example. The surface is matt and non-reflective.

Fleece 300 g/m² – technical data

The textile material absorbs hardly any moisture and is weatherproof thanks to its high material thickness (depending on the location).

Note: The information on weather and UV resistance has been determined in studies conducted under Central European conditions. Use in regions with different climatic conditions (high humidity, strong UV radiation), such as in Southern European countries, tropical areas and desert regions, as well as in areas with high air pollution or at high altitudes, will cause a faster ageing process.

Information on transport and storage

We deliver fleece on rolls to prevent creasing and wrinkling. Fleece is a disposable product and is usually discarded after the event. However, the 300 g fleece in particular can be reused several times.
Important for storage: Make sure that the material is completely dry. Otherwise, mould may form. It is best to roll the dry fleece back onto the roll for storage.

What applications is fleece best suited for?

Fleece in 300 g, B1-certified quality is suitable for short to medium-term indoor and outdoor use.

In the event industry, it is mostly used as:

• Floor covering for trade fairs, POS, events
• A low-cost alternative to printed carpet

The dimensionally stable fleece is also suitable as:

• Endless banners for construction fences, safety barriers, Mannesmann barriers (also for sections of routes)

• Covering for balustrades, railings, wooden structures

• Covering bars, tables for serving

• table covers, tablecloths

• and much more.

Tip for fastening: Depending on the surface , fleece can be stapled, glued or fastened with cable ties / thin wire. When mounting on fences, we recommend folding the fleece over at the top and bottom and fastening it with cable ties at intervals of approx. 5 cm. This ensures that the fleece is taut and less susceptible to wind loads and rain.

When using as a floor covering, we recommend double-sided adhesive tape (e.g. GT 703) or coloured gaffa tape, such as GT 571, available in many colours, for securing the edges.

Alternatives to 300 g/m² fleece

• Fleece 150 g/m² – the lightweight fleece banner: In addition to the 300 g fleece, we also offer a thinner version with a weight of 150 g/m². This fleece is more malleable and adaptable and is used, among other things, as fence covering, tablecloths, covering for bars, tables, etc. in outdoor areas.
• Polymesh 115 g/m² – wind-permeable alternative for outdoor use: When used as a covering for fences and safety barriers, the windproof fleece is mainly used in southern Germany, Switzerland, Austria and southern Europe. For windier areas such as northern Germany and northern Europe, we recommend Polymesh, an extremely wind-permeable polyester fabric with excellent print quality.
