Polymesh, also known as perforated mesh, is an extremely permeable fabric made of matt polyester. It has a textile, slightly stretchy feel and is lightweight at 115g/m². The material with a perforated structure is even more light and wind permeable than flag fabric or similar fabrics. Polymesh is particularly suitable for use in exposed locations or in windy coastal regions. Thanks to its B1 certificate (according to DIN 4102), Polymesh is flame retardant, making it suitable for indoor use .
Polymesh can be printed on one side in good print quality. A customised print in 6c digital print quality appears in vibrant, brilliant colours, the print is weatherproof and scratch-resistant and offers perfect print-through of at least 60%. This means that customised motifs are clearly visible on both sides. Compared to classic flag fabric , the perforated mesh flutters a little more calmly in the wind, which is an advantage in terms of durability, for example for flags and beach flags. Conclusion: Polymesh is a flexible, non-twisting and resistant fabric for indoor and especially outdoor use. The permeable material is often used to make flags and beachflags. It is also suitable for large banners, fabric coverings and endless prints of all kinds and ideal for use as scaffolding, grandstand and fence coverings. You should order Polymesh, if you need a lightweight, light and wind-permeable material that can be used in particularly windy locations.

Polymesh, also known as perforated mesh, is a flexible, slightly stretchy polyester fabric that combines low weight with excellent wind permeability and good print quality. Thanks to its perforated structure, the fabric is even more light and wind permeable than classic flag fabric or meshbanners made of mesh vinyl. Polymesh is therefore particularly suitable for use in exposed, windy locations.
Polymesh has a matt, non-reflective surface. The print quality is good thanks to high-resolution 6c sublimation printing . The colours of a customised print appear brilliant and intense, and the print is scratch-resistant and weatherproof. The wind-resistant material is ideal for use at events and construction sites – for example , for flags, beachflags and banners, for coverings, grandstand and fence coverings, as decorative cloth banners and endless banners, as well as for facade and scaffolding banners.
Cable ties can be used to attach polymesh, which can be quickly and easily fastened through the hole structure. Alternatively , you can order polymesh ready-made – our configurator offers you a range of finishing options to choose from.
Good to know: Custom printing on polymesh is possible on one side. The material offers a print-through of at least 60%, so the print also appears (mirror-inverted) on the back of the fabric. Please note: Due to the perforated structure, motifs or logos are visible throughout, depending on the viewing distance, lighting conditions and illumination .
We print polymesh individually according to your requirements. The perforated mesh fabric can be customised in just a few steps:

Polymesh does not necessarily have to be finished in order to be attached. The material can also simply be cut at the edge. By inserting cable ties, the mesh can then be easily attached as a covering or banner to trusses and scaffolding, fences or safety barriers. However, perforated mesh is more resistant to wind loads when it is finished (e.g. hemmed).
The following versions are available (a detailed description of all types of finishing can be found further down in the text):

Polymesh comes in rolls of 45 m, with a maximum print width of 2.8 m. Larger formats are also possible. In this case, individual strips are sewn together at the back.
Polymesh is a very light and wind-permeable material (approx. 40%). We print the mesh fabric using high-resolution 6c sublimation printing. In this printing process, the ink is applied to the fabric and then vaporised using heat. This not only results in a particularly colour-intensive print image, but also a very weather-resistant print. We print polymesh seamlessly up to a width of 2.8 m ; larger formats are sewn together on the reverse side.
Polymesh is printed on one side. However ,due to the permeable material, the print is clearly visible on both sides at approx. 60 %. The motif or other print is therefore mirror-inverted on the reverse side – naturally in less intense colours. Please note that the material is very translucent: how clearly the print motif is actually visible on the reverse side also depends on the lighting conditions at the location.
In addition, it is important to bear in mind that polymesh has a less closed surface than flag fabric, for example, so a certain viewing distance should be maintained in order to see motifs clearly (without gaps).
The perforated structure results in very high wind permeability – however, with appropriate lighting, trusses or other poles used for fastening are visible. For video and photo work, the surface is matt and non-reflective.
We customise polymesh individually according to your specifications. Here you will find a brief explanation of the individual configuration options:
Polymesh cut with straight edges
The perforated mesh is cut straight according to your specifications. This type of finishing is particularly suitable if you want to staple the fabric, for example to cover wooden frames or similar. Thanks to the perforated structure, simply cut Polymesh can also be fastened with cable ties or wire, as a covering, banner and much more.
Polymesh perforated mesh hemmed with double safety seam
Here, the material is folded over twice (double hemmed) and fixed on the back with two parallel seams. This double safety seam makes the hem particularly secure and protects the fabric from tearing and fraying. We recommend this finish for textile banners and flags.
Polymesh hemmed with trim tape
With this option, the mesh is folded over once (single hemmed) and a reinforcing trim tape (textile tape) is sewn onto the back of the hem. The colour of the textile tape is selected in our print shop to match the print motif. Finishing with trim tape is even more stable than the double safety seam, and we recommend this option for textile banners, ceiling hangers and similar items. This finishing is not recommended as side reinforcement for flags, as it makes the material unnecessarily heavy.
Hole mesh hemmed with trim tape and eyelets (only in the corners)
Here, the polymesh is also simply hemmed (folded over once, sewn on the back) and a reinforcing trim tape is sewn onto this hem. In addition, the fabric is eyeleted in the corners with metal eyelets with an inner diameter of approx. 12 mm. The trim tape makes the side edges of the fabric particularly stable and prevents the eyelets from tearing out.
Polymesh perforated mesh hemmed with trim tape and eyelets (every 50 cm)
Here, the material is simply hemmed, reinforced with binding tape on the back (as above) and additionally eyeleted at intervals of 50 cm. The metal eyelets have an inner diameter of approx. 12 mm. The edging tape makes the side edges more stable and protects the eyelets from tearing out – important, especially when used in windy locations. The eyelets every 50 cm also allow the fabric to be stretched securely, without creases and taut.
Polymesh fabric with hemstitching – 4 cm, 8 cm or 10 cm wide
The hemstitching is ideal for all applications where the fabric is attached with poles, ropes, slats or similar. Hemstitching is available in three different diameters, each measured on the flat hemstitching:
Tip: The perforated structure allows the material to be easily fastened with cable ties or similar without time-consuming preparation. To do this, order the material cut or hemmed (better protection against tearing of the side edges).

Polymesh is a high-quality, extremely permeable fabric in excellent quality. The textile-like material can become saturated with rain, but is waterproof and tear-resistant and stable even in wind and weather.
Note: The information on weather and UV resistance has been determined in studies under Central European conditions. Use in regions with different climatic conditions (high humidity, strong UV radiation), such as in southern European countries, tropical areas and desert regions, as well as in areas with high air pollution or at high altitudes, will cause a faster ageing process.
Polymesh is a lightweight, flexible material and is supplied folded as standard. On request, the fabric can also be rolled onto a core for shipping.
Polymesh can be rolled or folded for storage. Any creases and folds can be removed by stretching the fabric tightly.
Polymesh is the wind-permeable alternative to flag fabric (approx. 30% wind-permeable). The perforated structure makes polymesh even more air-permeable, which extends the life of flags in windy areas. Flag fabric has a particularly fine mesh (no perforated structure) and, like polymesh, has excellent print quality with bright colours and perfect print-through of approx. 60%.
We also have various other polyester fabrics with a textile feel in our range. We recommend display fabric as an opaque, lightweight alternative with excellent print quality. This material is densely woven, slightly wind-permeable and available in various designs, e.g. with an opaque coating or with stretch content. Display fabric is particularly suitable for indoor use.
Polymesh is a lightweight, wind-permeable material that is versatile and can be used both indoors and outdoors. The permeable polyester fabric is particularly popular in windy areas such as northern Germany, Scandinavia and England, as it does not offer a large surface area for the wind to catch, is weather-resistant and tear-proof.
It is used in the event industry for, among other things:
Note: We recommend taking down flags outdoors in strong winds.
Please also note: Polymesh can become saturated with rain, but the material is robust and will not tear even when wet.
Due to its hole-like structure, polymesh is also known as perforated mesh, depending on the industry and region, and sometimes as flag perforated mesh or flag fabric perforated mesh.
Polymesh (perforated fabric) is a particularly wind-permeable material thanks to its perforated structure, making it ideal for windy areas. Weather-resistant, mesh-proof and tear-resistant are further important properties of the polyester fabric. Thanks to its low weight, the fabric is easy to handle and very flexible. So if you are looking for a fabric for outdoor usethat is lightweight and highly wind-permeable, yet non-reflective, hard-wearing and offers a perfect print image – then Polymesh is the perfect choice for you!
