Flag fabric is a flexible polyester fabric that combines light weight with good wind permeability (30%) and high print quality. The 110 g/m² lightweight material with a textile feel has a silk-matt and non-reflective surface . Flag fabric is suitable for outdoor use, is UV-resistant and weatherproof. Thanks to its B1 certificate (DIN 4102), flag fabric is flame-retardant, meaning it can also be used indoors .
An offer that convinces: We print flag fabric in high-resolution 6c sublimation printing. Thanks to its continuous, densely woven surface, the material enables impressive, high-resolution printing in intense colours. Flag fabric is printed on one side, the fabric offers 60% print-through. Individual motifs are therefore clearly visible on both sides.
Flag fabrics can be used in more than just windy conditions: in addition to flags (hoist flags, advertising flags, fence flags, beachflags), the fabric is also versatile for cloth banners, decorative coverings, fan banners and rank covers, as well as many other banners. You should order flag fabric if you are looking for a lightweight, light and wind-permeable material for cloth banners with excellent print quality.

Flag fabric is a closed fabric made of polyester, which can be printed in high quality. Flag fabrics are characterised by their low weight and good (30%) wind and light permeability as well as tear resistance .
If flag fabric is traditionally made into flags, banners and beachflags for outdoor use, the printed fabric is weatherproof and UV-resistant – as a cloth banner or advertising flag for indoor use, flag fabric is certified as flame-retardant (B1 according to DIN 4102).
Our configurator offers you several options for finishing: Flag fabric can be easily cut, sewn, eyeleted and/or hemmed (hemstitch).
Please note: Motifs for individual advertising flags / advertising banners made of flag fabric are printed on one side. The material offers approx. 60% print-through, which means that the print also appears (mirror-inverted) on the reverse side of the fabric.

Flag fabric can be printed seamlessly up to a width of 3.1 m. Larger formats are also possible without any problems; these are sewn together on the reverse side.
Fabrics absorb well, resulting in particularly rich and brilliant colours when printing on textile materials . We print flag fabric in high-resolution 6c digital printing using thermal sublimation printing. The ink is printed onto the fabric and then vaporised with heat to make it extremely durable. The result is a colour-intensive print image with perfect print-through. We can print flag fabric seamlessly up to a width of 3.10 m. Larger formats are sewn together on the reverse side.
Flag fabric is printed on one side, but thanks to approx. 60% print-through , the print is visible on both sides, although it is mirror-inverted on the reverse and the colours are slightly less intense. The material is translucent: how visible the print motif is on the reverse therefore depends on the lighting. The surface of the flag fabric is silk matt and non-reflective.
Customised flag fabric, individually manufactured and tailored to your requirements – with our configurator, you can create the flag fabric you need. Here you will find the various options explained in simple terms:
Here you can get the flag fabric simply cut with straight edges. This finish is particularly suitable if you want to use the flag fabric to cover wooden structures, for example, or if you want to staple it to wooden panels.
Please note: simply cut, unhemmed flag fabric may fray or tear. The material should not be exposed to strong tensile loads.
With this finish, the flag fabric is hemmed and the hem is sewn with a double safety seam. The fabric is folded over twice (double hemmed) and fixed on the back with two parallel seams. The double safety seam makes the hem particularly secure and protects the fabric from fraying. We recommend this finish for textile banners and flags.
Here, the flag fabric is folded over once (single hemmed) and a reinforcing trim tape (textile tape) is sewn onto the back. The colour of the textile tape varies depending on the print colour and is selected by our print shop to match your print. The reinforcement with a trim tape provides the material with optimum protection against tearing. This finish is particularly suitable as edge reinforcement for cloth banners, ceiling hangers, coverings, textile banners and other banners that are stapled or attached with Holdon clips or similar. This finish is not suitable as side edge reinforcement for flags, as it makes the flag unnecessarily heavy.
With this finish, the flag fabric is simply hemmed as described above and reinforced with binding tape on the reverse side. In addition, the corners are eyeleted with metal eyelets (inner diameter of the eyelets: 12 mm). This finish is ideal for flags and cloth banners, it serves to reinforce the side edges and protects the eyelets from tearing.
The flag fabric is simply hemmed, reinforced with binding tape on the back and eyeleted with metal eyelets every 50 cm along the selected edge (inner diameter of the eyelets: 12 mm). The trim tape provides optimum protection against tearing for the eyelet edge. We recommend this finish for flags and larger cloth banners, as the eyelets every 50 cm allow the banner to be attached tightly and without creases.
Hemstitching is one of the most popular finishes for flag fabric. This finish is ideal for flags, but also for banners. There are three different diameters to choose from, each measured on the flat hemstitch:
It is difficult to give a general recommendation as to which finish is best for flag fabric, as the material is used not only for flags but also for many other products. We recommend that hoist flags intended for a flagpole with a boom (gallows) be finished with a hemstitch at the top edge and eyelets on one side edge. To attach the flag, the boom is inserted into the hemstitching and the flag is fastened to the flagpole at the sides with thick cable ties (min. 7.6 x 370 mm) through the eyelets.

Flag fabric is a lightweight but sturdy polyester fabric. The material is tear-resistant and impresses with its durability and weather resistance. Here are some more properties:
We print flag fabric seamlessly up to a width of 3.10 m ( ). Larger formats are also no problem; these are sewn together from individual panels on the reverse side.
Note: The information on weather and UV resistance has been determined in studies under Central European conditions. Use in regions with different climatic conditions (high humidity, strong UV radiation), such as in southern European countries, tropical areas and desert regions, as well as in areas with high air pollution or at high altitudes, will cause a faster ageing process.
Our flag fabric is a lightweight yet very stable, weatherproof and high-quality material of outstanding quality, which gives our customers great pleasure in both indoor and outdoor use.
Many manufacturers specify a blanket 3-year guarantee for UV resistance and weather resistance. This is true if the fabric is used exclusively indoors. However, this specification is not always realistic for outdoor use. If flag fabric is used as a flag or banner at heights of 10 m or more and exposed to sun, wind and weather for long periods of time, this is definitely not the case. Weather and mechanical effects from strong winds can cause material wear. We therefore find it difficult to make a general statement. To be on the safe side, we specify 0.5-2 years of UV resistance and weather resistance!
Flag fabric is easy to care for and washable at 30°C (mild detergent, gentle cycle). It can be ironed at low temperatures. However, please note that washing and ironing will cause the material to lose its flame retardancy. The flag fabric will only regain its B1 rating after being re-impregnated with flame retardants.
Flag fabric is delivered folded as standard. On request, it can also be shipped rolled on a core. For crease-free storage, we recommend folding or rolling up the flag fabric loosely. Make sure that the fabric is completely dry to prevent mould from forming.
, we recommend polymesh as an even more wind-permeable alternative. This polyester fabric also has a grammage of 110 g/m², but a different material structure, namely perforated mesh. The perforated structure makes polymesh much more air-permeable than flag fabric, flutters less and is particularly suitable for coastal regions or areas with strong winds.
As the name suggests, flag fabric is mostly used for:
Note: We recommend taking flags down outdoors in strong winds.
However, the air-permeable, weatherproof and extremely stable material with excellent print quality is also suitable for many other applications. We have already manufactured flag fabric for:
Flag fabric is much more than just a fabric for flags. Are you looking for a lightweight, permeable material that looks good even in wind and weather?
