The frontlit advertising tarpaulin can be printed seamlessly up to a width of 4.9 m. Larger formats are also no problem; these are high-frequency welded on the reverse side.

Print quality of printed frontlit tarpaulins B1

We print the 500 g frontlit PVC banner in high-resolution 6c digital print. The smooth, closed surface enables photo-realistic print quality with brilliant colours. Lines and edges (lettering) are absolutely clean and razor-sharp, and detailed motifs and colour gradients can be achieved with impressive colour reproduction. Digital printing is available for this banner on one side. Banners with printing on both sides are also available; please contact us for more information.

We print frontlit banners seamlessly using digital printing up to a width of 4.9 m. Larger banners are welded together at high frequency from individual strips on the reverse side.

Frontlit PVC cut with straight edges

Here, the material is simply cut with straight edges. This finishing is particularly suitable if the tarpaulins are to be used like posters for stapling to wooden panels, for covering wooden frames, etc. Finishing with straight cut edges is also sufficient for fastening with Holdon clips.

Cut and with eyelets (spaced 50 cm apart)

Here, the tarpaulin is cut to size and also eyeleted on the desired side edge with metal eyelets at intervals of 50 cm. The inner diameter of the eyelets is 12 mm. We recommend this finishing for advertising tarpaulins for short-term use or for low banners up to a height of approx. 120 cm.

Frontlit PVC tarpaulins hemmed

With the "hemmed" finish, the edge of the tarpaulin is simply folded over and welded on the back. This makes the material stable and particularly tear-resistant. The single-hemmed version is suitable, for example, for banners that are stapled to wood or screwed down with washers. The welded hem provides the advertising banners with optimum protection against tearing.

Frontlit PVC tarpaulin hemmed and with eyelets (only in the corners)

Here, the material is hemmed at the selected edge as described above (simply folded over and welded on the back) and additionally eyeleted in the corners with metal eyelets with an inner diameter of 12 mm. This finish is ideal for small advertising banners up to approx. 1 m². For larger banners, we recommend one eyelet every 50 cm.

Standard finishing: hemmed and with eyelets (at intervals of 50 cm)

Hemmed and eyelet-fitted every 50 cm is the standard finishing for PVC banners, whether for fence tarpaulins, advertising banners or scaffolding advertising. The frontlit tarpaulin is also hemmed as described above (simply folded over and welded on the back). In addition, the material is fitted with metal eyelets every 50 cm. The hem provides optimum protection for the eyelets against tearing. Eyelets allow banners to be stretched securely and without creasing in any size.

Frontlit PVC with hemstitching, 4 cm, 8 cm or 10 cm (flat)

For attachment with poles, we also offer finishing with a hemstitch. The hemstitch is available in three widths, suitable for pole diameters up to 5 cm:

- - 4 cm wide (flat) – ideal for thin wooden and metal poles with a diameter of up to 2 cm
  - 8 cm wide (flat) – for rods with a diameter of up to 4 cm
  - 10 cm wide (flat) – for pipes (ø 50 mm), Layher rods (ø 48.3 mm) and standard roof battens (max. 3 x 6 cm).

Depending on the application, other types of finishing are particularly suitable, which is why we find it difficult to make a specific recommendation. In addition to standard finishing, we also produce customised special finishes for our customers on a regular basis. For example, it is popular at festivals to attach Velcro tape to banners so that they can be quickly removed in the event of an evacuation due to severe weather. Special, extra-wide Velcro/fleece tape is sewn on for this purpose. We are happy to produce this type of finishing and other special finishes for you on request. We reserve the right to print the base material of the 500 g tarpaulins from other manufacturers, which is why some specifications (e.g. maximum tensile strength, tear resistance) may vary.

Cast, not laminated!

These tarpaulins are guaranteed to be of the highest quality! Cheap banners are often made of laminated material, i.e. the inner fabric layer is coated with layers of PVC (laminated). This 500 g tarpaulin B1, on the other hand , consists of a fabric layer that is coated with liquid PVC ( ). The inner fabric makes the tarpaulin particularly tear-resistant and robust, and the reinforced material is much more resistant to tensile forces that can occur when tensioning. A cast PVC surface also provides an excellent surface for high-quality printing.

Note: The information on weather and UV resistance has been determined in studies conducted under Central European conditions. Use in regions with different climatic conditions (high humidity, strong UV radiation), such as in southern European countries, tropical areas and desert regions, as well as in areas with high air pollution or at high altitudes, will cause a faster ageing process.

General note on tarpaulins: Take care with wind loads outdoors!

The advertising tarpaulin offered here is a PVC full tarpaulin. These tarpaulins are not windproof. Large advertising tarpaulins should only be attached with extreme caution in exposed, windy areas and during storms outdoors! As a general rule, advertising tarpaulins are like sails in the wind – there is a risk that the eyelets will tear under the pressure and your advertising will literally fly away. Are you looking for a large-format outdoor fence banner or scaffolding banner? For windy, exposed locations or for mounting at lofty heights? In this case, we generally recommendusing wind-permeable meshbanners.

Frontlit has many names. It is also known as...

Frontlit is the most commonly used term for this material. Depending on the region and industry, it is also referred to as tarpaulin, canvas or PVC banner. Less commonly, the 500 g/m² banner is also referred to as a truck tarpaulin. This is not entirely correct, however, as the classic truck tarpaulin weighs approx. 900 g/m².

Information on delivery and storage

We deliver the Frontlit Banner B1 rolled as standard ( ). This enables space-saving and crease-free shipping and also protects the print from scratches. The banner is always rolled on the short side, so the length of the short side determines the roll length for shipping. Please note: For shipping reasons, printed tarpaulins longer than 6 m are delivered folded!

We recommend rolling the banner for storage. This provides the best possible protection against creases and folds. If the print is on the inside, it is protected from scratches. Make sure that the banner is completely dry, otherwise mould may form.

Alternative material and additional tarpaulins (frontlit)

In unfavourable lighting conditions, truss struts or poles may be visible through the 500 g/m² tarpaulin. For complete light opacity, we recommend the opaque (blockout) banner, which is 100% light-proof thanks to an integrated black separating layer, even when backlit. The opaque banner can be printed on one or both sides.

As a wind-permeable product, we recommend mesh. Advertising banners of this type can also be printed in very high quality and are ideal banners for windy locations!
