Self-lying carpet tiles: tips for laying and storage
Carpet tiles should never be laid immediately after unpacking. The textile carpet planks need time to acclimatise, at least 24 hours at 10°C to 25°C. To do this, lay the carpet tile flat on the floor. The underfloor heating should have been switched off for 48 hours and the floor temperature should not exceed 30 °C. Please do not worry about the inherent odour of the tiles, as this will dissipate within a very short time.
The 1m² self-lying carpet tiles can be laid individually. For easy installation, there is an arrow on the backside textile coating of the tiles, which indicates the laying direction.
Carpet tiles can be easily removed from the floor and repacked after an event or when moving. It is best to store the tiles lying flat in their boxes, in rooms protected from moisture and UV radiation .
Please note the following when using on sports hall floors and linoleum floors: the black bitumen backing can cause the edges of the carpet tiles to rub off on sensitive, light-coloured floors, leaving streaks. This applies in particular to sports hall floors and linoleum floors.
The following designs can be created quickly and easily:
Thanks to the structure, colour and size of the carpet tiles, you can become a designer in no time at all! The carpet tiles can be laid as a pattern in one colour due to their structure
- in a single colour as a pattern (e.g. a chequerboard pattern) or
- in several colours
Choose a simple straight laying pattern, for example for the living area, or turn each tile 90° to create a checkerboard pattern. Laying in blocks is a very durable option for rooms that are subject to heavy wear and tear. With a little extra effort, the tiles can be cut diagonally into triangles or lengthwise to create rectangular carpet planks.

Be careful with wet carpet tiles : self-lying carpet tiles should never be laid or stored wet. Artificial heat sources are also not suitable for helping them to dry. These could damage the carpet tiles and/or reduce their longevity.
You]can find detailedinformationand other useful tips in our instructions for laying carpet tiles.
Self-lying carpet tiles – a high-quality product
It's often in the detail that you'll find the difference: these carpet tiles are not cut to size, as is often the case. The manufacturer guarantees perfectly fitting, seamless transitions by punching the tiles into shape. This means that no cut marks (loose fibres) are visible at the edge of the carpet tiles.
Robust, self-lying carpet tiles for commercial, contract, exhibition, event and other high-traffic areas
The needlefelt floor covering is characterised by the following properties:

- Fire protection class: Bfl-s1 certified (according to EN 13501-1) flame retardant
- Antistatic: charging voltage < 2 kV (EN 1815 for elastic floor coverings)
- Slip-resistant carpet tiles: tested slip behaviour, thus no slipping (EN 13893)
- Luxury class: LC 2 – tiles with good comfort and feel-good factor
- Lightfast: the carpet is colour-fast in daylight.
- Cut edge: Very firm seams and durable cut edges that do not fray
- Service class 22: Areas with medium use, e.g. in living rooms, entrance areas, etc.
- DL | PCP: Pentachlorophenol content, tested carpet tiles
- Impact sound: excellent sound insulation (25dB!)
- NA | NCHO: Formaldehyde emissions tested tiles
- Underfloor heating: Suitable for heating with hot water underfloor heating
- CE marking: CE certified according to EN 14041
color="blue"Particularly noteworthy: the self-lying carpet tiles have a heavy back consisting of a bitumen heavy coating and a textile fleece, which is responsible for the excellent smoothness. This backing offers the best protection for the floor coverings underneath. You will see that no marks or abrasions of any kind will be left when the tiles are removed. This backing is therefore ideal for laying over a sensitive floor covering, such as parquet flooring or a sensitive sports or hall floor.
Emission-tested floor covering – carpet tiles free from harmful substances
These self-lying carpet tiles are CE certified according to the standard for resilient, textile and laminate floor coverings (EN 14041). This product is also rated A+ by the French VOC label. This means that this product contains a very low concentration of solvents. Emission-tested flooring – carpet tiles free from harmful substances. The tiles are also emission-tested according to DIBT principles.
Carpeting – a filter for noise
Whether it's wall-to-wall carpeting or carpet tiles, textile floor coverings not only give your rooms a beautiful look, they also improve the acoustics. This effect is particularly beneficial at the trade fair, at events or in the office. In contrast to smooth floor coverings such as wood, parquet or vinyl, the rough surface of carpets absorbs disturbing noises and impact sound. In terms of sound quality, carpets absorb reverberation and offer the same advantages as fabrics, furniture and curtains.
color="green)"Carpet tiles are an ideal floor covering for trade fair and event needs: depending on how thick the carpet is, reverberation can be improved to a greater or lesser extent. These carpet tiles are of high quality and offer an impact sound improvement of 25 dB. Please note : a carpeted floor is certified for installation on the floor. However, this certificate does not apply to use on the wall.
Can carpet tiles be used more than once?
The self-lying carpet tiles can be laid as often as you like. The carpet tiles are easy to care for and can be vacuumed and cleaned with mild soapy water. If a large tile is heavily soiled, this is not a problem either, because it can be replaced in no time at all.
