Stage molton white is made of 100% cotton, is flame retardant according to DIN 4102 and, with a weight of 300 g/m², is the heavy form of molton. Molton fabric is one of the opaque theatre and stage fabrics. Stage molton is sound-absorbing and thus dampens background noise at events. Its matt, light-absorbing surface does not reflect flash lights. Ideal conditions for photo shoots and studio work. Stage molton consists of a cotton fabric roughened on both sides with a fabric weight of 300 g/m². This results in the following properties:
- Light-absorbing

Molton white - flame retardant according to DIN 4102 and DIN EN 13501-1
Like all molton from allbuyone, the white stage molton is also impregnated to be flame retardant and has a B1 flame protection certificate in accordance with DIN 4102. The molton also complies with EN 13773 c1 for flame retardant fabrics.
Stage molton from allbuyone also complies with classification C-s1, d0 according to DIN EN 13501-1.

White molton – backdrop, stage fabric and much more
The classic areas of application for 300g heavy molton include use as a backdrop, photo background fabric, stage curtain and covering / cover for stage equipment (drums, mixing desks, etc.) and cases. However, plain white stage molton is less commonly used for stage curtains, as coloured molton is more suitable for this purpose.
Stage molton white is used in the event sector and in stage technology for the following:
- Shirting - base and projection surface: Lighting and video technology uses the densely woven fabric as a tensioning cloth and base fabric for frame constructions and as a base for nettle. Together, the fabrics create a white, matt projection surface.
- Photo background: With its matt, non-reflective and light-absorbing surface, stage molton is popular as a background in photo studios for portrait and product photography. The high-quality cotton fabric enables first-class quality shots.
- Backdrop: The white stage backdrop is almost light-tight and light-absorbing. White backdrops are used, for example, at weddings, large open-air church services, fashion shows or as a white background fabric that is illuminated with colourful spotlights to create special effects.
- Wall covering: The heavy molton in plain white and natural white is also very popular for wall covering in trade fair and event areas. With a width of 300 cm, the white cotton fabric covers large areas of bare concrete walls and hall ceilings full of sound and stage equipment cables in various venues. The white cotton fabric creates an appealing atmosphere. As the fabric absorbs sound, this type of wall or ceiling covering also improves the room acoustics.
Please note: Molton is not a sprinkler-compatible fabric! The fabric cannot therefore be used as a ceiling suspension under sprinkler systems!
Good to know: As molton is impregnated with flame retardants, it complies with the strict fire safety regulations in the event sector.

Stage molton white and natural, as well as all molton fabrics available in our shop, are certified flame retardant in accordance with DIN 4102. However, molton is made of cotton and is therefore not a permanently flame-retardant fabric. Please note that certain influences counteract the flame retardancy. These include moisture, temperatures above 30°C, dry cleaning and long storage times. Bioretard is suitable for renewing the flame retardancy.
Bungee cords and gaffa tape: accessories for easy installation
Depending on whether the molton is customised or purchased by the metre or in rolls, there are various installation options. Rolls and fabric by the metre can be fixed with gaffa tape (cloth tape). Molton is often eyeleted and reinforced with webbing. Bungee cords are then suitable for hanging the event molton on truss systems, poles or similar.
