Stage molton cut, with straight edge

With this version, you receive the stage molton by the metre in the desired size. The side edges are cut cleanly and straight, but not hemmed. This variant is available for all 4 sides.

Tip]for fastening: Cut stage molton can be attached with Holdon Clips Midi. The Holdon Clips can hold up to 70 kg and are available in black and white in the shop. Alternatively, you can staple stage molton by the metre, but please note that larger pieces of fabric can be quite heavy.

Stage molton with a simple hem

An affordable, simple and clean way to finish molton fabrics. The standard hem measures approx. 2.5 cm, the extra-wide hem approx. 5 cm. Please note: the extra-wide hem with 5 cm is only possible on the bottom edge. The finishing with hem is usually chosen for three sides, while the top edge is finished for attachment with grommets, hemstitch, Velcro/fleece tape, etc.

for attachment: For fully hemmed stage molton, we recommend the Holdon Clips. This keeps the molton taut and wrinkle-free; ideal for green screens, photo backgrounds, etc.

Stage molton eyeleted with stainless steel eyelets and reinforced edge

The fabric is fitted with rustproof stainless steel eyelets with an inner diameter of 16 mm (outer diameter 32 mm). The distance between the eyelets is either 25 cm or 50 cm. The greater the distance, the less drape. A reinforcing belt is sewn in for stabilisation. This protects against tearing. Stage molton eyeleted all around is particularly easy to stretch without wrinkles – ideal as a background in a photo studio. Stage fabrics can be eyeleted on all 4 sides.

The 25 cm eyelets are optionally available with an enclosed (not firmly sewn in!) tie band (length approx. 33 cm), which can be used to fasten the curtain.

for attaching: Molton with eyelets can be attached with ribbons, narrow rods, pipes and steel cables. Molton with eyelets all around can be tightly attached with rubber bands, cords or expander ropes.

Stage molton with eyelets and tie-down strap (not sewn)

The molleton is also provided with rustproof stainless steel eyelets (inner diameter 16 mm, outer diameter 32 mm), the distance between the eyelets is 25 cm. A belt is also sewn in here to reinforce the edges. In addition, ties are included with this variant (not firmly sewn to the fabric!). One tie per eyelet. This allows the molton to be tied to trusses, bars, etc.

Stage molton with sewn-in lead weight

To weigh down stage curtains, photo backgrounds and more, you can have a 200 g lead tape sewn into the bottom edge. The lead tape weighs down the molton fabric. This ensures that the molton hangs smoothly and tightly at all times. Even on moving stages, soffit scarves, for example, do not wobble as easily. A lead weight is often chosen when the fabrics are only used temporarily and then stored again. The weighting lead tape, which can also be sewn in twice, ensures that the molton hangs smoothly again as quickly as possible after storage.

Stage molton with hemstitch

The hemstitch (tunnel seam) version is available in two sizes: with a hemstitch of approx. 3 cm in diameter (5 cm laid flat) and with approx. 9 cm in diameter (15 cm laid flat). Molton with tunnel hem can be hung taut or gathered as required. Hollow seams at the top and bottom ensure that molton scarves hang perfectly smoothly downwards – very popular for soffit scarves, for example.

for mounting: Stage molton with a tunnel hem at the top edge can be hung with rods or steel cables. Lead weights can be inserted into a hemstitch at the bottom edge to weigh it down.

Stage molton with Velcro tape in 2 widths

In this type of assembly, a fleece tape is sewn onto the upper edge of the stage molton; the self-adhesive velcro tape included in the delivery is attached as needed. This allows you to remove the stage fabric at any time or hang it in a different place.

Tip:. For heights of up to 4 m, a 2 cm-wide Velcro/fleece tape is sufficient. For heights of approx. 4 m or more, a 5 cm-wide Velcro/fleece tape is required to reliably attach the Molton fabric. Molton with Velcro/fleece tape can be replaced in seconds, which is particularly interesting for theatres.

for mounting: the fleece tape is already sewn to the fabric, the self-adhesive velcro tape is stuck to the desired surface. Important: the surface should be clean and free of dust and grease. Press the velcro tape on firmly to achieve optimal adhesion!

Stage molton with crimped tape or heavy-duty webbing tape

Molton with sewn-in crimped tape is suitable if you want to have acoustic curtains sewn, for example. When using a ruffled band, large amounts of fabric are attached in a small space, which means that the sound-absorbing surface is very large. A ruffled band consists of a drawstring and a loop band. You can individually determine the degree of ruffling using the drawstring; the tighter you pull the molton together, the denser the molton fabric will be. The loop band is used for hanging with hooks. Up to 3 m in height, crimping tape (approx. 20 mm wide) is used; for longer curtains, we use extra-robust heavy-duty tape that is 30 mm wide. The crimping tape is selected by our sewing department to match the colour of the fabric (in black, white, bordeaux, light grey, beige); the heavy-duty tape is always white.

: The width of the fabric is reduced by the ruffling process. Therefore, please multiply the actual width required by a factor of 1.6 to 2.0, depending on how much you want to ruffle the curtain later, and order this value in the configurator.

Example: You need a 2 m wide curtain and would like to have it heavily ruffled. 2 m x 2.0 = 4.0 m. So you order the curtain with a width of 4.0 m in the configurator, but the ruffling reduces it to 2 m.

for attachment: The loop tape is attached with matching hooks, which are hooked into the individual loops. Standard plastic roll hooks can be used for curtain heights of up to 300 cm. Larger and therefore heavier curtains should be attached with stainless steel hooks.

Stage molton with pleat tape for even pleats

A pleat tape is sewn onto the back of the material, and pulling it together creates even triple pleats. The pleat tape is 5 cm wide. The pleat tape has an integrated loop tape for hanging. The assembly with triple folds is popular for stage curtains, theatre curtains and acoustic curtains: a lot of fabric is used in this variant, resulting in a particularly large sound-absorbing surface. The pleat tape is made of transparent plastic material.

: Hooks are used for hanging, either conventional plastic roller hooks or stainless steel hooks. For stage molton curtains higher than 3 m, we recommend stainless steel hooks due to the heavy weight of the stage molton.

: This configuration uses fabric at a ratio of 1:2.5, i.e. 2.5 m of fabric are needed for a 1 m wide curtain. When ordering, please specify your required width, the configurator will automatically calculate the amount of fabric needed for processing!
