The B1 Molton made of 100% cotton has a fabric weight of 300 g / m², it is roughened on both sides and impresses with its properties: stage Molton has a matt surface, it reflects neither light nor flashes. Properties of stage molton

Allbuyone's stage molton, like decorative molton, is of high quality and first-class material, made in Germany. The 300g heavy stage molton is woven in a twill weave, which results in a particularly robust and dense fabric. The surface of the molton fabrics is roughened on both sides. This results in numerous properties that make the technical fabric a versatile material in event technology, on theatre stages and in exhibition stand construction. These properties are:

Stage Molton is sound-absorbing

Stage Molton is sound-absorbing, it dampens the noise level and thereby audibly improves the acoustics. Thanks to its heavy weight of 300 g per square meter and because the surface is roughened on both sides, the fabric absorbs sound and reduces reverberation and echo. Structural measures are required in a room for proper sound insulation, but for sound attenuation, stage molton can be used for high and medium-frequency ranges due to its sound-absorbing properties, for example as wall cladding or ceiling suspension: Whether in recording studios, cinemas, restaurants or public facilities – a wall that is fully or partially covered with sound-absorbing stage molton absorbs background noise better. As a curtain, stage molton also improves room acoustics and ensures the best sound quality. The more folds the curtain has, the higher the degree of absorption.

Stage Molton is light-impermeable

Stage Molton B1 is light-impermeable, which means that the dense fabric can also be used to darken rooms. The degree of darkening varies depending on the weave and colour of the molton. In black, the tightly woven stage molton is almost light-proof, with the fabric achieving a darkening level of 95%. This is already perceived by the human eye as a "blackout".

The almost light-proof cotton fabric is used wherever blackout fabrics are needed for bright rooms and illuminated backgrounds. The 300 cm wide stage molton is ideal for darkening studios, home cinemas, discos and event rooms. The 30-metre roll allows large areas to be darkened quickly.

Stage Molton is opaque

Stage Molton is opaque in every colour. As a backdrop and curtain, Molton protects against prying eyes. The drapes on podiums, grandstands and stages are often made of molton at (music) events. The opaque molton reliably covers stage areas from view and also serves as a stylish decoration for a bare stage construction. The stage molton roll is therefore also ideal for covering large areas of trusses.

Molton fabric as a roll, by the metre or ready-made

As a roll (bale), stage molton is available in 30 running metres and an additional 60 running metres (each 300 cm wide). In addition, the molton fabric is available by the metre in cut sizes or ready-made from our sewing department, for example, eyeleted, hemmed, as acoustic curtains (with brass eyelets) or stage coverings.

Alternatively, we offer you a sewing service where you can have the molton made up as you need it. Do you need curtains with special dimensions and finishes? With a simple hem, hollow seam, Velcro tape or lead tape – we will sew your stage curtain exactly as you want it!

Molton as a photo background in film and photo studios

Photo backgrounds made of Molton absorb incoming light from lighting and flash, i.e. the rough background does not reflect the light, but "swallows" it. This allows for top-quality recordings without disturbing light spots.

Washing stage Molton – care instructions

Molton fabrics are made of cotton and can generally be washed if they are dirty or have stains.

be careful: stage molton and decorative molton are only flame retardant impregnated, the flame retardants do not migrate into the fibres. The fabric loses its flame-retardant impregnation through washing, ironing, damp storage and tumble drying.. Dry cleaning is also not recommended. Stage molton and decorative molton can be made flame-retardant again with flame retardants, but only if used properly will the fabric then comply with DIN 4102.

Tip: To avoid creasing, you should store the molton on a roll. In addition, thanks to its high weight, stage molton will unwind by itself after a while. So ironing is not necessary!

Other stage and decorative fabrics

In addition to stage molton, we also offer decorative molton in a variety of designs. Our standard decorative molton has a surface weight of 160 g/m² and is available in a total of 11 colours. Decorative molton is woven in a plain weave and is translucent, making it ideal for decorations at events and trade fairs.

Various other fabrics such as nettle (veil nettle), satin molton, taffeta, organza, trevira, chiffon, tulle and velvet (stage velvet) are available on request. In addition to the stage molton roll, you can also order 500g Kalmuck (acoustic molton) in raw white and black, which is particularly suitable as a blackout fabric.
