Depending on the intended use, it is important to know that HDPE ( high-density polyethylene) is an extremely tear-resistant plastic, which can also withstand higher loads (wind, pressure from people), while LDPE ( low-density polyethylene) can be torn by hand, and allows quick use without tools.

Marking tape in a dispenser box – a practical aid! Barrier tape in a dispenser box makes it much easier to pull off the tape, ensuring tidiness and quick barriers. Please note: the dispenser box does not have a tear-off aid. A cutter or scissors are therefore required as a tool for tear-resistant HDPE tape.
Barrier tape red white / yellow black: extremely tear-resistant warning tape
The super barrier tape in a practical dispenser box is popular for events that last several days or are subject to particular stress. This barrier tape allows flexible use. The material (high-density polyethylene) is particularly tear-resistant and can withstand even strong gusts of wind. Even light pressure from people cannot damage HDPE barrier tapes . The red and white or yellow and black striped colour combination in signal colours is particularly visible – on both sides, of course. Obstacles and danger areas can be cordoned off quickly with the help of the dispenser box. Please note: the extra tear-resistant material is very difficult to tear by hand; the tape will only break if overstretched (< 500%). We therefore recommend using scissors or a cutter when using the tape.

Hand-tearable barrier tape 500m: barrier tape red white
The standard barrier tape, which is also supplied in a dispenser box and is very reasonably priced, is a warning tape, barrier tape or marking tape made of LDPE plastic. This tape can be easily torn by hand when in use . Such barrier tapes are suitable for cordoning off, warning and marking areas where the tape is not exposed to any particular mechanical stress (e.g. pressure from people). You can order this barrier tape in our shop with red and white hatching. Choose this tape if there is no risk of strong winds or public traffic compromising the barrier.

LDPE barrier tape in other colours: plain or blocked
As an alternative to the hatched barrier tapes in black yellow and red white, you will also find other coloured barrier tapes in our shop – single-coloured or blocked. These barrier tapes are particularly wide at 70 mm and, despite being made of LDPE, are surprisingly tear-resistant at a thickness of 50 µ. These barrier tapes are often used at sporting events, for example to mark out or trace running routes. They are also popular as warning tapes, for example to cordon off or fence off an area (car park), as markings (e.g. delivery zones) or to trace and mark rows of seats and sight lines during the set-up of an event.

Barrier tape: for warning, marking and cordoning off
Barrier tape is extremely versatile, ensures safety and is always clearly visible in a signal colour. Whether for marking and warning, for cordoning off paths and areas or for safety marking of obstacles and danger areas.
According to paragraph 12 BGV A8 (VBG 125), temporary hazards and obstacles must be marked with red and white markings (e.g. barrier tape or adhesive tape). In occupational safety, however, the signal for a permanent barrier or demarcation must be black and yellow.
Please note: According to the guidelines for securing workplaces (RSA), red and white or yellow and black construction site tape may only be used for additional visual guidance and marking at workplaces and only in hazardous areas within built-up areas (see Part A, Point 3.2 Warning devices). These types of warning tapes are not suitable on their own for fall protection, for example at excavations or for cordoning off roads (as road barriers ).
Securely fasten the barrier tape – accessories and tips for smooth use
You can also purchase practical accessories for the barrier tape in our shop. barrier rods . The metal hammer-in post (Neptune hook) has a safety bracket through which the barrier tape can be threaded. The pointed tip at the bottom of the post is simply stuck/driven into the ground.
Alternatively, you can add the white GRIP barrier tape holder to your order, a flexible barrier post made of spring steel, coated with a white plastic coating.
In addition to barrier posts, trees, lampposts, columns, pillars or construction fences are also suitable for securely attaching barrier tape.
Tip: Self-adhesive cloth tape can also be used as warning tape.
