Information on permanent and temporary marking
Barrier tape and warning tape are often used to mark hazardous areas, to cordon off areas and car parks, and to provide visual guidance. However, it is important to note that black and yellow barrier tape alone does not provide sufficient safety in road traffic. The use of barrier tape without additional safety precautions is also not permitted for securing construction sites, for example during excavation work or as fall protection.
The BGV A8 also stipulates that white and red blocked/hatched barrier tapes are to be used for temporary Absperren and black and yellow blocked/hatched barrier tapes are to be used for permanent barriers. This is also frequently used for floor markings.
