Difference between LD PE and HD PE polyethylene

PE barrier tapes are made of polyethylene, a plastic. The main difference between LD (low density) and HD (high density) barrier tape lies mainly in its density. HD has more branched polymer chains, which makes the material extremely tear-resistant. Such tapes can be stretched up to 500% and withstand high wind loads and a certain amount of mechanical impact. LD has a lower density, is only stretchable up to approx. 50% and therefore has a practical tearability. The barrier tape red white of this quality is tear-resistant, has an elasticity of approx. 200% and is very difficult to tear by hand.
