Electrical insulating tape: various adhesive tapes for insulating, sealing and much more.
Insulating tapes are non-conductive. They are highly abrasion-resistant and protect cables and wires from moisture and mechanical stress. When wrapped overlapping, the isoband can be used as a water or water vapour barrier. The adhesive tapes made of soft PVC are easy to process at temperatures from approx. -5°C to +70°C, they are easy to unroll and can be torn off by hand. The self-welding tape tesa 4600 made of silicone is suitable for temperatures from -65°C to +260°C. AT Iso tapes feature high-quality adhesives and offer good adhesive strength combined with excellent removability. The self-welding tape is not self-adhesive; it only sticks to itself. Our Grip inslulation tape GT 807 offers a good, inexpensive alternative to AT adhesive tapes.
Insulating tapes can therefore be removed from cables for a period of at least 72 hours without leaving any annoying adhesive residue.

Soft PVC insulating tape: Use – more for marking than for insulation
Insulating tape is a must-have in every workshop and toolbox. But even though the name suggests otherwise, insulating tape is actually used less for insulation. It is more commonly used for bundling cables and securing them in place. The tapes play an important role in colour coding and marking individual live wires and their inputs and outputs. That is why we also offer an insulating tape set consisting of 10 colour-coded insulating tapes in our range.
Self-welding insulating tape – premium adhesive tape for sealing, insulating and repairing
Self-welding tape is a special tape for sealing, repairing and insulating. The adhesive tape sticks to itself without glue and also adheres to dirty, oily and damp surfaces. The tape is suitable for sealing. It seals holes and leaks in hoses, cables and pipes so that they are watertight.
The self-welding tape tesa 4600 repairs cables with a dielectric strength of up to 8000 volts and can also be used in extreme cold and heat (-65°C to +260°C) as well as under water. A premium adhesive tape for the highest demands! The self-welding sealing tape has a dielectric strength of 35 KV/mm and can be used at temperatures ranging from -40°C to +90°C.
Professional insulation with electrical insulating tape in accordance with VDE 0340-3-1 (DIN EN 60454-3-1)?
Important note for electrical use: Professional insulation only with tested heat-shrink tubing!
A safe insulating tape is marked with a VDE mark or a comparable test mark. However, strictly speaking, this only means that the tape is not conductive and does not impair existing insulation. Insulating tape is NOT suitable for repairing and insulating damaged cables and bare live wires (emplastification ). AT7 insulating tapes have a dielectric strength of at least 8 kV. The mechanical strength (dielectric strength) of soft PVC adhesive tape is insufficient for insulating higher voltages. Self-welding heat-shrink tubing is considered a safe insulating medium for high voltages.
Colours of insulating adhesive tapes in the range
The following colours are available for cable marking:
- white, yellow, orange, red, green, blue, black, brown, grey
- and yellow-green ( ) for marking the earth connection
