Stage barricades are the global standard at public events. They ensure safe barriers, separate crowds and enable the creation of important access routes for security, police or emergency services. Gigs stage barriers are durable and reliably withstand high audience pressure of up to 5 N/m.

The modular design is particularly practical, as it not only makes assembly easy, but also allows individual elements to be combined with each other without any problems. Each module can be connected to another element securely and stably with two screws. Our Gigs stage barricades are statically tested, TÜV certified and comply with most safety regulations.

What are stage barriers?

Gigs stage barriers are barriers or wave breakers made of aluminium. The profiles are made of durable and robust light metal, welded and then covered with perforated sheet metal on the audience side. Thanks to the finely perforated cladding, Gigs Barriers are far more impermeable and many times more stable than other safety barriers (e.g. Mannesmann grids, police grids, etc.).

Gigs Barricades have a non-slip, grooved tread surface for the audience, which is flattened at the end to prevent slipping, tripping and injury. On the back of the barriers there is a step for staff and diagonal struts that can withstand even the highest audience pressure. If two rows of barriers are set up parallel to each other, the space between them can be used as a stable and safe access route for security and emergency services. As you can see, Gigs stage barriers make crowd management child's play.

How do Gigs Barricades work?

Gigs Barricades were designed with a height of 118 cm. This is approximately the same height as counters found in shops or bars. This height allows for comfortable standing and support with the arms when standing upright.

On the side facing the audience, there is a base plate measuring approx. 70 cm, which visitors can use to steady themselves while also weighing down and securing the stage barrier.

The pressure exerted by the audience on the barricades is absorbed by the diagonal struts and then transferred to the base plates and the ground. This intelligent flow of force prevents the elements from tipping and slipping and ensures optimum stability and safety.

Barriers from cheap suppliers: Beware of replicas and cheap barricades

For every high-quality product, there is usually a cheap counterpart that promises equivalent features. Unfortunately, this is often not the case. This is also true for stage barriers: Barriers from other manufacturers at significantly lower prices are not always well designed and may have sharp edges that could injure visitors.

One example is the perforated sheet metal used in Gigs Barricades, which is specially manufactured. Other suppliers cut this element out of a large sheet of perforated metal. This results in many sharp edges.

Cheap does not necessarily mean poor quality, but the quality of the goods should be checked beforehand. In general, no compromises should be made when it comes to safety, which is why we recommend our barricades with a clear conscience.

Colour of the stage barricades

Would you prefer silver or black? With Gigs stage barricades, you can create silver or black barriers at your event. The silver barricades are made of raw aluminium, while the black stage barricades are additionally powder-coated.

Stage barricade standard – straight element

The most commonly used element of the wave breaker is the Gigs Standard module. The straight aluminium barricade provides high-performance protection for stages, FOH or delay towers.

Between the diagonals on the rear side is a step that allows assistants to maintain visual and physical contact with visitors.

We also offer the straight standard element in a narrow standard half version. At 54.5 cm, this module is half as wide as the Gigs stage barricade standard.

In addition to its width, the smaller model differs in that it only has one diagonal brace for reinforcement and no step on the rear.

Multicore pass-through – straight element with cable passage

At festivals and other events, FOH, delay towers and other installations are set up in the audience area. Like the stage, these are protected from visitors by barricades.

The problem with these installations is the cabling, which poses a tripping hazard for visitors. Cable protectors are used for this purpose, which can be optimally routed through the Gigs multicore pass-through without interrupting the barricade or unnecessarily endangering visitors.

Multicore Access Gates – Access gate with opening for cables

The practical Multicore with passage is also available in another version – the Multicore Access Gate. Like the Multicore, the Multicore with access gate has a passage for cables and also has a gate that can be used for personnel access.

Inner corner and outer corner as angle elements

Inner and outer corners can be used to form precise angles. Both versions are available in angles of 5°, 22.5°, 45° and 90°. Compared to the Vario corner element, the angles are more precise and in some cases more space-saving. This is particularly helpful when there is little space available on site or when the architecture of the barricades cannot be changed due to their fixed location. Each element is compatible with the other modules in the Gigs series.

Gigs special elements

With the Gigs special elements, you can create customised barrier lines for your event. According to, thisimproves safety management, which benefits everyone involved in an emergency. All special elements are, of course, compatible with the standard elements.

Vario angle element – variable corner element

The Gigs Vario angle element isthe solution for flexibility in corners. With this variable element, an angle of -60° to +60° can be created. The Vario element can be used individually in this area thanks to a hinge in the centre axis. Varios allow barricade lines to be curved in high-pressure areas without triggering hazards due to tapered base plates.

T-corner element – barricades for a 90° connection

With the help of the T-Corner, barricades can be connected at an angle of 90°. The T-corner element allows certain sections to be divided in the event area. These areas can then be used, for example, for VIP, baby pits or golden circles. The big advantage here is that everything can be set up within a single barricade line.

Flex corner element – module for flexible connection

As the name suggests, the Flex Corner Element is a very flexible module that allows any angle from 0° to 90° to be formed. The Flex Corner can be used to bridge height differences of up to 5 cm. This element does not have a base plate. This has the advantage that cables can also be laid under the barricade.

Gigs Gates

Barricades form a closed, firmly connected barrier. In many cases, however, it is necessary to create an optional passageway. Whether for delivery, admission or in emergencies – Gigs stage barricades offer the ideal solution in every case.

Escape gate – gate for emergencies and evacuation

To ensure a successful event, the organiser should make the necessary safety precautions. These include clearly visible escape routes to provide for or evacuate guests in an emergency. The Gigs escape gate is pressure-resistant and has a double-leaf gate that can be opened even under strong counterpressure. The escape gate can be opened by security personnel with one hand, while visitors cannot reach the opening bolt. Both wings are available in silver and black, each with green detailing, which corresponds to the colour for emergency exits in Europe. There are also two steps on the rear side, allowing staff to maintain visual and physical contact with visitors.

Truck Gate – Access gate for heavy goods vehicles and emergency vehicles

The Truck Gate is the widest access gate in the GIGS product range. The gateway allows large trucks and emergency vehicles to pass through the otherwise closed barricade. As with the escape gate, the two wings of the access gate can be opened in both directions. The gatewaycan also be opened against pressure and offers security personnel two steps at the rear.

Entrance gate – Line Up Gate for regulated access

The high-quality gate system enables regulated, controlled and secure public access. The separation system complies with current safety regulations and can be connected to Gigs stage barriers for greater stability. Typical applications include concerts, sporting events and film premieres, as well as other large events with high visitor numbers where safety precautions are necessary in the entrance area.

Double gate admission system – Line Up Double Gates

This separation system has two gates separated in the middle. This element also has a uniform height of 1.18 m and is compatible with other Gigs parts. The special feature of this entrance gate, in addition to the two entrances, is the centre piece. This can be removed if necessary to create wheelchair access for visitors with disabilities.

Compensator – For covering and connecting to the barricades

The compensator is used in combination with separation systems. The purpose of this module is to highlight the access to the entrance gates and to cover the struts protruding from the sides. These could otherwise become a tripping hazard for visitors. The 180° compensator is the connecting element between two gates.

The 90° compensator is used at the beginning and end of the entrance. This allows additional barriers to be attached directly to the separation systems and the barrier to be continued throughout.

The compensators also serve as a visual cover for waste bins in which unauthorised items can be disposed of. The perforated plate can also be used to attach signs and notices.

Transport dolly – Gigs transport trolley

The transport dolly is a practical transport trolley for many gig barricades. Delivery and storage are made much easier. The dolly has castors, eliminating the need for pallet trucks or forklifts. If the transport trolley is not used for stage barricades, it can also be used for other accessories on the production floor.

How are stage barriers set up?

Stage barriers are quick and easy to set up: Gigs Barricades can be assembled and screwed together in no time with the help of an assistant. How the stage barriers are used and in what arrangement depends on the scenic and artistic stage design (catwalk, B-stage, number of FOH, delay tower, etc.). The standards of the safety concept must also be taken into account.

Only two screws and two wrenches are required for fastening. The use of a ratchet can make the work much easier. If you want to work with a cordless screwdriver, a specially developed Makita attachment is available on request to enable the screws to be tightened correctly even in hard-to-reach places.

What to consider when using barricades

There are no fixed rules for setting up and installing stage barriers. However, it is important that the barrier is at least as long as the stage area. This means that even small stages require a barrier. Depending on the number of visitors, wave breakers must also be provided to prevent the pressure in the front rows from becoming dangerously high.
