High-visibility vests mandatory in Germany – new since 1 July 2014

Since 1 July 2014, it has also been compulsory in Germany to carry a safety vest (not on motorcycles) for private use of a two-lane motor vehicle : This states that a standard safety vest must be carried in the car for the driver. allbuyone recommends that safety vests also be carried for all passengers. Storing safety vests – care instructions

There are a few things to keep in mind when handling a safety vest. The fluorescent and retro-reflective material of the safety vests is sensitive to UV light. Therefore, never expose a safety vest to direct sunlight for long periods of time in order to prevent its reflective or fluorescent properties from being impaired.

• Do not put safety vests in the dryer
• Bleaching, dry cleaning and ironing impair the reflective properties
• According to EN ISO 20471, safety vests may only be washed 5 times at max. 40 °C.
• If the safety vest is heavily soiled, you should replace it for your own safety.
