A barrier tape (also known as warning tape) is a barrier tape with red and white or yellow and black stripes that is particularly suitable as warning tape for marking hazardous areas. Barrier tape is used by the fire brigade and police as barrier tape. Barrier tape is also used as a versatile aid at events (outdoors and indoors), in businesses and much more: as marking tape for event areas and car parks, to cordon off delivery zones and paths and as warning tape at hazardous locations. Barrier tape as warning tape at hazardous locations
Red and white or yellow and black striped warning tapes are often used to cordon off and mark hazardous areas. Whether as barrier tape for a police cordon or as warning tape to set up a restricted area, the 70 mm wide barrier tapes are highly visible from a distance and ensure that the cordoned-off area is not entered.
The eye-catching colours of the barrier tapes comply with DIN 4844 (safety colours and safety signs). According to BGV A8, permanent barriers should be erected at permanent hazard points using yellow and black striped barrier tape, and temporary barriers should be erected using red and white striped barrier tape. However, the barrier tapes are only used for marking and not for fall protection at construction pits or similar. Traffic lane restrictions must be implemented using floor marking tape; barrier tape is not sufficient for this purpose either.
Barrier tape for efficient cordoning off at events
At large events, many (temporary) barriers are put up. At open-air events, trade fairs and other events, barrier tape is suitable for use as barrier tape for crowd control systems or for fencing off car parks in open fields. Barrier tape and barrier tape are also used to clearly mark footpaths, temporary roads or paths on meadows and fields for visitors.
Individual areas of an event that are used for setting up or delivering goods can be easily cordoned off from unauthorised persons with barrier tape – both outdoors and indoors.
Barrier tape for marking seating areas
When organising open-air events, barrier tapes are used to enclose and mark seating areas. The barrier tapes are not only stretched to cordon off areas, they also help to align the seating (if necessary, with additional measuring cord and floor marking tape!).
