*RA1 (reflective film) has the required minimum reflectivity for approx. 7 years and is suitable for short-term barriers outside motorways.
RA 2 (high-reflective film) has a minimum reflectivity 4 to 5 times that of RA1 and is suitable for 24-hour barriers (including on motorways).
Technical data for traffic control cones
Depending on the purpose for which you wish to use the traffic cones, certain criteria must be met. The requirements for cones for a sporting event are different from those for a traffic cone used to secure a public road.

Notes and information on BASt and StVO
There are various standards and certifications for traffic cones. Different requirements must be met depending on where they are used. The StVO primarily regulates the appearance of traffic cones. This includes, for example, the number and colours of the rings on the traffic cone. A TL (Technical Delivery Conditions) tested traffic cone meets all requirements for use on public roads. This means both their appearance and their technical values (shape, reflectivity, environmental compatibility, etc.). The same applies to traffic cones tested by BASt (Federal Highway Research Institute). Here, a few additional criteria are also checked, although these are not absolutely necessary for use in road traffic.
Detailed information can be found in the StVO (German Road Traffic Regulations) in Appendix 4 to § 43 (3) (Section 1 Facilities for marking work sites and accident sites or other temporary obstacles) sign 610.
