Are you looking for a flame-retardant, robust white foil? Then the 120 my flat foil from our own brand GRIP Eventbasics is the right choice for you! The flat foil is a top-quality foil made of 100% polyethylene (LDPE). It is waterproof, tear-resistant and elastic, yet flexible and adaptable. In addition, the flat foil is flame retardant and B1-certified ( ) in accordance with DIN 4102.
In our shop, you will find several white flat foils with different thicknesses and varying degrees of transparency. The 120 my flat foil is the densest of the foils and is the least transparent in comparison. The foil is ideal as a cover foil, for packaging and similar applications.
You can buy the flat foil as a roll measuring 4 x 25 m, folded 4 times on a roll, with a width of 1.10 m. In addition to the white PE foil, you will find a wide range of other foils in different colours and thicknesses in our shop.

The white flat foil from our own brand GRIP Eventbasics is a stable foil of the highest quality. With a thickness of 120 my, the foil is robust and very tear-resistant, yet elastic at the same time. The foil is made of 100% polyethylene (LDPE) and is flame retardant B1-certified according to DIN 4102, thus complying with the strict fire safety regulations that apply to public events.
With a width of 4 m, the flat foil can be processed quickly and over large areas. For space-saving transport, the foil is folded and wound onto a roll to a width of 1.10 m. You can buy the flat foil in our shop in white and black, in a completely opaque version.
Info: Unlike the 120 my foil in black, the white version is not opaque. The foil is slightly translucent (transparent), but denser and whiter than the 60 my and 200 my foils in our range.
Note: The flat foil is printed with a black label indicating its flame retardancy along the long side (25 m side). The print is continuous along the long side of the foil and is approx. 1-2 cm from the edge. If necessary, you can cut away the printed edge, which will result in a loss of approx. 3-4 cm of material. In some cases, this print may save you from having to provide additional B1 certification when the product is inspected by a fire safety officer.
Please note: Polyethylene (PE) foils are characterised by high temperature resistance and are resistant to various chemicals. However, polyethylene can melt in extreme heat, from approx. 110°C. The material is also sensitive to extreme cold and prolonged UV radiation. This can cause the foil to become brittle.
A flame-retardant additive is added to the polyethylene foil material during production. This makes the foil flame retardant and certified as B1 according to DIN 4102. While conventional PE foils can accelerate fire, the flame-retardant flat foil is self-extinguishing. This makes the film suitable for use at public events, concerts, trade fairs, etc., as it complies with strict fire safety regulations.
In industry, PE foils are used in various thicknesses and variants (shrink films, tubular films, flat foils) as a versatile packaging material, for example as food packaging. Elastic PE stretch films are used to secure loads, as packaging material or for wrapping pallets, as protection against dust and moisture during transport and in storage.
In the event industry, elastic PE foils are also used as packaging films to protect cardboard boxes and bulky items from dirt and moisture during transport. At events, flat foils are used to cover freshly laid floor coverings and protect equipment on stage from rain and dirt. PE foil is also resistant to diesel and heating oil and is therefore suitable as a base for diesel generators at events, for example. For safety reasons, we recommend placing several layers of foil underneath.
By the way: You will of course also find the right accessories for fastening the flat foil – adhesive tape in various versions – in our shop.
In addition to white flat foil, other foils are available in our shop. Our range includes flat foils in opaque black, grey and white/transparent with different foil thicknesses, which you can order as a whole roll:
LDPE and HDPE differ in a number of ways. LD polyethylene has a low density and highly branched polymer chains. LDPE is particularly elastic, adaptable, flexible and tear-resistant. HDPE (high-density polyethylene), on the other hand, is more rigid and less stretchable than LDPE. The two polyethylene forms can also be distinguished by their feel: LDPE is almost silent when processed, while HDPE rustles, similar to a fence tarp. LDPE foils are also more flexible, elastic and adaptable than the comparatively stiff HDPE foils.
PE foils are recyclable. Here, too, the two PE variants differ: LDPE has the recycling code PE-LD 04, HDPE the code PE-HD 02. Both materials can be disposed of separately in the plastic bin or at the recycling centre.
