Are you looking for an inexpensive, flame-retardant foil? A translucent foil for large-area protective covers or for backlighting? Then the B1 60 my transparent foil from our own brand GRIP Eventbasics is the right choice for you. The polyethylene (LDPE) foil is white translucent, transparent and light-permeable. As the foils are flame retardant and B1-certified in accordance with DIN 4102, they can be used at public events and trade fairs. You can purchase the flame retardant foil in our shop as a roll measuring 4 x 50 m (folded on the roll to a width of 1 m).
Note: The foil is printed with a black label on the long side (25 m/ or 50 side) indicating its flame retardancy. The print is continuous along the long side of the foil and is approx. 1-2 cm from the edge. If necessary, you can cut away the printed edge, which will result in a loss of approx. 3-4 cm of material. This print may save you from having to obtain an additional B1 test certificate when the film is inspected by a fire safety officer.
Please note: The PE foil has high temperature resistance and is resistant to many chemical influences. However, LDPE can melt in extreme heat (melting point approx. 110°C). The material is also sensitive to extreme frost and prolonged UV radiation. The foils can become brittle when exposed to prolonged sunlight or extreme cold.
The PE foil is flame retardant and B1 certified according to DIN 4102. Unlike conventional foils, which accelerate fire, the flame retardant foil is self-extinguishing. The foil therefore complies with the fire safety regulations that apply at many events. The PE foil can therefore be used without hesitation at public events, trade fairs and similar occasions.
The inexpensive, translucent foil is used for various purposes at events, trade fairs, in industry and much more:
It is suitable as a carpet protection film for covering freshly laid exhibition carpets and other sensitive floor coverings and surfaces. The 4 m wide film strips allow particularly fast working. The films are also used as protective covering film for equipment, offering protection against rain, moisture and dirt.
The thin, slightly transparent material is also ideal for applications with light installations/backlighting. The translucent PE foil can be backlit and is used for coverings in stage and backdrop construction as well as for various other lighting projects.
Storage information: Please store the foil at approx. 20°C (+/-10°C) in closed rooms protected from sunlight with a relative humidity of approx. 30-90%.
Our range includes other foils in different thicknesses and colours, each available in rolls. The following foils are available and can be shipped quickly:
In our shop, you can also order stretch film in transparent and black, air-cushion film or PVC lacquer foils in various colours, as well as cover foils made of HDPE fabric. Are you looking for a specific colour or thickness? We can supply any other foil on request. We would be happy to advise you personally!
LDPE has a few significant differences compared to HDPE. A film made of LDPE (low-density polyethylene) is a film with low density and highly branched polymer chains. This makes LDPE foils particularly flexible, adaptable, tear-resistant and elastic. LDPE is generally more stretchable than HDPE. An HDPE foil is rather stiff or rigid with the same foil thickness and has a higher tensile strength. The material can also be distinguished by touch: HDPE rustles when touched, while LDPE is almost silent when processed.
LDPE foil can be disposed of properly at any public recycling centre or in the plastic bin. The recycling code for LDPE is PE-LD 04.
