The B1 120 my foil is a high-quality foil in a deep black colour that is completely opaque and ideal as window foil, privacy foil and protective foil for surfaces, floor coverings, etc.
With a thickness of approx. 120 my ( ), the LDPE (polyethylene) foil is robust, highly tear-resistant and very stable. The foil measures 4 x 25 m and is folded 4 times to a width of 110 cm on the roll for easier transport. Certified as B1 flame retardant according to DIN 4102, the foil meets the fire safety requirements for event materials.

Opaque foil B1: stable protective and window foil
The PE foil from our own brand GRIP Eventbasics is a stable, tear-resistant privacy and cover foil in high quality. The deep black PE foil is completely opaque and impervious to light - ideal for darkening windows, as a privacy foil, but also as an opaque protective foil for equipment, accessories and the like. At 120 my, the foil is very tear-resistant and robust, yet elastic at the same time. The width of 4 m allows for quick work over large areas. For easier transport, the flat foil is folded 4 times and wound onto a roll to a width of approx. 1.10 m. Please note: The foil is not self-adhesive and must be fixed with adhesive tape or similar.
Thanks to its B1 certificate ( ), the foil also meets fire safety requirements and is approved for use at public events.

Note: The foil is printed with a white notice of flame retardancy along the long side (25 m side). The print is continuous along the long side of the foil and is approx. 1-2 cm from the edge. If necessary, you can cut away the printed edge, which will result in a loss of approx. 3-4 cm of material. During inspection by a fire safety officer, this print may eliminate the need for additional B1 certification.
Please note: PE foils have high temperature resistance and are resistant to various chemicals. However, the material can melt in extreme heat (melting point approx. 110°C). The foil is also sensitive to extreme cold and prolonged UV radiation. Prolonged exposure to sunlight/extreme cold can cause the foils to become brittle.

Opaque foil – B1 certified according to DIN 4102
A flame-retardant additive is added to the LDPE of the foil during production, making the foil flame retardant and B1-certified according to DIN 4102. While conventional foils accelerate fire, the B1 transparent foil is self-extinguishing. This makes the flat foil suitable for use at public events, trade fairs and similar occasions where strict fire safety regulations usually apply.

LDPE and HDPE foils – what is the difference?
The two forms of polyethylene – LDPE and HDPE – differ in a number of ways. LDPE (low-density polyethylene) has a low density and highly branched polymer chains. This makes the material particularly flexible, tear-resistant, elastic and adaptable to different shapes. HDPE, on the other hand, is less stretchable than LDPE, is more rigid and has a higher tensile strength. LDPE and HDPE also differ in terms of feel: LD polyethylene is virtually silent during processing, while HD polyethylene rustles.
PE foils disposal
Polyethylene film can be disposed of properly at any public recycling centre or in the plastic bin. The recycling code for LDPE is PE-LD 04.
