Rolled molton is a flame retardant stage and decorative fabric
Rolled molton is equipped with fire protection and thus meets the strict fire protection requirements of the events industry as well as in public buildings. Stage and decorative molton rolled fabrics are tested as flame retardant according to DIN 4102 B1 and classified according to European standard (EN 13773, EN 13501-1) Cs1-d0. Good to know: The flame retardant treatment can be lost through washing or mechanical stress. For re-impregnation we recommend the fire protection agent Bioretard.Difference between decorative molton and stage molton
The difference between decorative molton and stage molton lies mainly in the weave, the fabric weight and material thickness. Stage molton is a tightly woven fabric in twill weave. In black, stage molton is light-proof and is suitable for blackout and opaque covering. Its heavy fabric weight of 300 g/m² absorbs sound, reduces reverberation and echo, and overall improves sound quality and room acoustics.Decorative molton at 160 g/m² is, like stage molton, napped on both sides and therefore matt and reflection-free, however decorative molton is considerably lighter and thinner. The weave (plain weave) is also not as dense as stage molton. Decorative molton is not 100% opaque when backlit, the fabric is also translucent in black. Decorative molton is hard-wearing and can be flexibly tensioned. It is widely used for decorations on stages, at trade fairs and events, as well as in studios, tents or public spaces – as a decorative drape, ceiling canopy, tensioning fabric or translucent curtain or backdrop.
