How does a self-illuminating phosporising tape work?
The duct tape glow contains photoluminescent pigments embedded in the PVC. When removed from a light source, the tape immediately emits a self-illuminating light and begins to glow green. When fully charged, the phosphorescent tape glows for up to 10 hours. The product can be reused indefinitely.
Difference: phosphorescent / fluorescent adhesive tape
Did you know? Phosphorescent "glow" is a special form of luminescence, also known as "cold glow". Phosphorescent substances are also referred to as luminophores. Phosphorescence differs from fluorescence in the following ways:
- Fluorescent adhesive tape does not glow on its own. The tape requires a light source (UV light, known as black light, with a wavelength of approx. 385 nm). When the light source is removed, the tape stops glowing quite quickly.
- Phosphorescent adhesive tape, on the other hand, glows strongly under UV light (black light) and appears to be able to store light. This results in independent afterglow. This process can last for seconds, minutes or even hours.
Sticking warning adhesive-tape/marking tape
The self-illuminating glow-in-the-dark phosphorising tape has optimum initial adhesion and excellent adhesive strength. It can be used indoors and outdoors. Do not touch the adhesive surface of the self-luminous safety tape with your fingers and ensure that the surface is dust-free when applying the tape. The optimum processing temperature for the phosporising tape is between +18°C and +22°C.
