The stage covering is made of black stage molton and is hemmed all around. The covering is attached with Velcro tape. The stage covering is flame retardant B1 according to DIN 4102 and therefore suitable for stages at public events.

Stage covering made of stage molton B1
The stage covering is made of opaque stage molton in the colour black and is available in 8 sizes, customised to fit all standard stage platforms. The stage covering is hemmed all around. A self-adhesive fleece tape is sewn onto the upper edge of the long side. The stage covering is attached using a fleece tape self-adhesive (included in the scope of delivery), which can be mounted on the front edge of the stage to save time.

Stage cladding is flame retardant according to DIN 4102
Molton is impregnated to make it flame retardant and corresponds to classification C-s1, d0 according to DIN EN 13501-1. Molton is also flame retardant B1 according to the DIN 4102 standard, which is still valid in Germany, and also corresponds to EN 13773. Thus, the stage covering meets most fire protection requirements for theatre equipment and stage supplies.

Stage covering with fleece tape self-adhesive
The stage cladding is hemmed on all four sides. A Velcro strip is sewn onto the upper edge. The fleece tape included in the scope of delivery is stuck to stage edges, traverses or similar. Then the two tapes are pressed together like a Velcro fastener - and the facing is already mounted.
Do you need a different stage covering?
The stage molton is hemmed as standard and has Velcro tape on the upper edge. On request, the stage covering can also be made in other versions. We are happy to make individual dimensions, panels in other colours and other designs. Sample cards with all molton colours are available free of charge on request!
We also offer stage coverings in other sizes (e.g. for trusses) or without Velcro on request.
Possible customisations include, for example,
- Stage covering with hemstitch at the bottom edge
If requested, the stage covering can be provided with a hemstitch at the bottom edge. At 300g/m², stage molton is already relatively heavy. The hem allows bars or weights to be inserted later for additional weighting.
- Stage covering with lead tape
A lead tape can also be sewn into the lower edge of the fabric to weigh it down. This ensures that the molton is weighted down and hangs tightly.
Further finishing options and stage coverings made of nettle (veil nettle), stage velour, satin molton, trevira, stage velvet and other event textiles are available on request.
: Decorative molton is less suitable as a covering for stage platforms because it is not light-proof. However, for precisely this reason, decorative molton is sometimes used as a stage covering for special lighting effects.
Examples of stage covering applications in stage construction
Many stage structures can be covered with an opaque and sound-absorbing panel. Traditionally, the stage covering is attached to the front edge of the stage. This way, nobody in the auditorium can see below the stage. Drum risers are also often covered with stage Molton to conceal the technology and cable harnesses underneath. Likewise, railings or staircases can be hung with opaque B1 stage panelling. This achieves a visually harmonious stage design.
Note on the use of Molton in outdoor areas
are made of cotton and are not wind-permeable. Therefore, stage platforms should not be covered with Molton for open-air stages. For open-air events, we offer wind-permeable stage covers made of stagenet.
Care of stage and platform drapes
Stage molton can be cleaned in the washing machine at 30°C and is also suitable for tumble drying at low temperatures. However, please note that the flame retardant impregnation of molton is lost during washing and the fabric can also fuzz. The flame retardant impregnation can be renewed with the flame retardants Bioretard. When applied correctly, the Molton then again meets the DIN 4102 standard.
