We print the backlit banners according to your specifications, in the format you require and with the finishing that suits your application – in just a few steps, your printed advertising tarpaulin is ready to order:

Give each individual backlit banner a name (optional) – this name will appear on all documents and you will always have an overview.
Specify the width and height.
Select the desired finishing for the top, bottom and side edges – you can choose from a range of standard finishes.
Save the product.
Then add your finished banner to your shopping basket and complete your purchase or add another item.
After successful purchase, you will receive an order confirmation for your advertising tarpaulins and a link to our data sheet, which contains important information regarding the creation and transmission of your print data.
You will then receive a second email with an order confirmation and a personalised link for uploading your print data.
The order confirmation also contains the expected delivery date*.
We will check your data for printability. We will automatically correct minor errors for you. If the resolution or similar is incorrect, we will contact you. This service is free of charge for you!
As soon as the data is correct, your products will go to print.

Backlit advertising banners with customised finishing

Like frontlit banners, backlit tarpaulins are extremely versatile, with the added bonus that the backlit tarpaulin is even more effective when illuminated from behind. Depending on whether the material is clamped into light boxes or used for cladding, different finishing options are available.

You can choose the following finishing options in our digital print configurator, all of which are of course high quality. (A detailed explanation of each finishing option can be found below.)

Cut, with hem or eyelets:

Cut (with straight cut edge)

We print the backlit banner seamlessly up to a width of 4.9 m. Would you like XXL illuminated advertising? Larger motifs are of course also possible; for this, several panels are high-frequency welded on the back.

Printed backlit advertising tarpaulins – print quality in detail

We print the backlit tarpaulin in our event print shop using high-resolution 6c digital printing. The smooth, silk-matt surface enables perfect ink application. The photo-quality print shines in brilliant, luminous colours, with sharp contours and lettering, clean colour gradients and sharp images. What makes backlit banners so special is that the print image appears even more colour-intensive thanks to backlighting ( ), with the colours shining particularly beautifully thanks to the light from behind.

The backlit banner can be printed seamlessly up to a width of 4.9 m. Even larger formats are no problem; individual panels are welded together on the back so that the seams are virtually invisible.

Flat hem, hollow hem, eyelets and much more – all options explained simply

The following finishing options are available in our configurator. Further options (e.g. piping) are available on request.

Cut with straight edges
- With this finishing, the backlit banner is cut to your desired size with straight edges. This version is particularly popular for backlit tarpaulins and is ideal if you want to stretch the material in light boxes. The simple cut finish is also perfectly adequate for further processing, for example for permanent attachment to frames.
Cut and with eyelets (spaced 50 cm apart)
- Here, the backlit banner is cut and additionally eyeleted on the selected side at intervals of 50 cm. The eyelets have an inner diameter of 12 mm. Our print shop uses metal eyelets as standard, but plastic eyelets may also be used for production reasons. We recommend this finishing for banners up to a height of 120 cm. For larger banners, you should choose the option hemmed and with eyelets.
Hemmed (flat hem)
- Instead of simply cut, the backlit tarpaulin can be hemmed with a simple flat hem. The selected side is simply folded over and welded on the back. Hemming makes the tarpaulin even more stable and tear-resistant at the side edges. A simple flat hem is suitable if the material is clamped, stapled or screwed in place with washers.
Hemmed and with eyelets (only in the corners)
- With this finish, the backlit banner is simply hemmed (folded over and welded on the back) and additionally eyeleted in the corners. Our print shop uses eyelets with an inner diameter of 12 mm. We recommend this finish for tarpaulins up to approx. 1 m²; for larger banners, we recommend eyelets every 50 cm.
Hemmed and with eyelets (at intervals of 50 cm)
- Here, the backlit tarpaulin is also hemmed with a simple flat hem and then eyeleted at the selected edge, at intervals of 50 cm. The hem protects the eyelets from tearing, even under high tensile forces. This finishing option, which is very popular for frontlit banners, is also suitable for backlit tarpaulins if they are to be stretched taut and free of creases.
With hemstitching 4 cm, 8 cm or 10 cm wide (flat)

For fastening with poles or ropes, we also offer the backlit tarpaulin with a hemstitch, available in three different widths:

- - 4 cm wide (flat) – for thin wooden/metal poles with a diameter of up to 2 cm
  - 8 cm wide (flat) – for poles with a maximum diameter of 4 cm
  - 10 cm wide (flat) – for pipes (ø 50 mm), Layher poles (ø 48.3 mm) and standard roof battens (max. 3 x 6 cm)

It is difficult to give a general recommendation for the finishing of backlit banners, as the possible uses are so varied and therefore so are the best finishing options.

We reserve the right to print the base material of the backlit banners from other manufacturers, which is why some specifications may vary.

Note: The information on weather and UV resistance has been determined in studies conducted under Central European conditions. Use in regions with different climatic conditions (high humidity, strong UV radiation), such as in southern European countries, tropical areas and desert regions, as well as in areas with high air pollution or at high altitudes, will cause a faster ageing process.

Information on delivery and storage

The backlit banner is delivered rolled up as standard, which ensures space-saving and crease-free delivery. It is rolled up on the short side, i.e. the length of the short side determines the roll length for shipping. Banners longer than 6 m are delivered folded.

We also recommend rolling the backlit banner for storage. This provides the best possible protection against creases and folds. Make sure that the tarpaulin is completely dry, otherwise mould may form.
