mesh tarpaulin | Net vinyl 260 g/m² | B1 | 40% wind permeable
Would you like to have a mesh tarpaulin printed that is particularly wind-permeable? Then the 260 g/m² mesh vinyl is the perfect choice for you. The mesh fabric (PVC-coated) is a particularly open-mesh net that offers excellent sound and wind permeability (40%) and good print quality – ideal for use as large-scale outdoor advertising on facades, scaffolding, as stage cladding in front of PA systems, etc.
The mesh banner is printed on one side in 4c digital print. The grid-like surface is silk matt and non-reflective. The robust material of the mesh tarpaulins is weather-resistant, UV-resistant for 1-3 years, extremely dimensionally stable and tear-resistant. In addition, the mesh advertising tarpaulin is B1-certified (flame retardant according to DIN 4102) and can therefore also be used indoors.
The sound- and wind-permeable mesh is suitable for a wide range of outdoor use in exposed, windy locations and at lofty heights as stage covering, scaffolding banners, for wind-permeable fence banners and advertising tarpaulins, as well as for façade advertising with customised finishing (hemstitching, eyelets, etc.).

We print mesh tarpaulins up to a maximum of 4.9 m seamlessly. Larger formats are also no problem; individual panels are high-frequency welded on the reverse side.
Printing mesh tarpaulins – details on print quality
Mesh fabric is printed using 4c digital printing, which is generally high-resolution and offers very good colour reproduction. Due to the material structure, printed mesh tarpaulins require a certain viewing distance to ensure that the print motif can be seen clearly. Detailed print motifs are generally more difficult to reproduce. The coarser the mesh, the stronger this effect. Lighting (from the side, directly from behind, etc.) also plays a role, which is why it is difficult to give a general recommendation for the required viewing distance.
The base material of mesh (polyester mesh) is white and is printed on top. When viewed from the side, the white base material is visible, and this effect increases the coarser the mesh. Mesh with 260 g/m² has a relatively coarse mesh structure, so a greater viewing distance is required. In addition, the white base material is more visible when viewed from the side than with mesh with 300 g/m², for example.
However, the permeable mesh banner scores points with its higher wind and sound permeability. Another advantage over printed, certified soundmesh is that the 260 g mesh banner has significantly better print quality, but also lower sound permeability.
The material is idealfor stage cladding, scaffolding advertising or other large-scale outdoor advertising, as it does not offer a closed surface for wind to attack and is always mounted at a certain distance from the viewer.
Mesh can be printed seamlessly up to a width of 4.9 m, and larger motifs are also no problem! For this purpose, the individual strips are welded together on the back using high frequency. Please note: the weld seam on the back is white and easily visible with dark print.
Customised mesh tarpaulins – the manufacturing process explained
With our configurator, you can create your own customised fence tarps, advertising banners and more in just a few steps, in your desired format and made to measure. There are various options available for the side edges, which are explained quickly and easily here:
-
Mesh tarpaulin cut with straight edges
- With this configuration, the mesh tarpaulin is cut to the desired size with straight cut edges. This finish is suitable, for example, for fence banners and other fence coverings where the banners are wrapped around the fence struts and fastened, as well as for banners that are stapled, for example, to a wooden frame construction. Thanks to the coarse mesh structure, cut mesh advertising banners can be fastened using cable ties, which are simply inserted through the mesh.
-
Mesh banners with hemmed edges
- With this option, the edge of the advertising tarpaulins is simply folded over and welded on the back. This protects the tarpaulins better against tearing. It also results in a clean, straighter outer edge. Simply hemmed mesh tarpaulins can also be fastened with cable ties or stapled.
-
Banners hemmed and with eyelets (only in the corners)
- Here, the selected side is hemmed as above (simply folded over and welded on the back). The tarpaulin is also hemmed in the corners. This protects the mesh tarpaulin from tearing and also makes it easier to attach with bungee cords, cable ties, etc.
-
Advertising tarpaulins hemmed and with eyelets (50 cm apart)
- Optionally, the mesh banner can also be fitted with eyelets every 50 cm. This makes it particularly easy to stretch taut and wrinkle-free using cable ties, bungee cords or a rope. The selected edge is hemmed as described above (simply folded over and welded on the back) and fitted with eyelets at intervals of 50 cm.
-
Mesh banner with hemstitching, 4 cm, 8 cm or 10 cm wide (laid flat)
- For large-scale advertising and cladding that is attached with poles, ropes, pipes or wooden slats, the hemstitch finish is ideal. Our configurator offers you a choice of three different widths, each measured on the flat hemstitch:
- 4 cm wide (flat) – for thin metal and wooden poles with a max. diameter of 2 cm
- 8 cm wide (flat) – for poles with a maximum diameter of 4 cm
- 10 cm wide (flat) – for pipes (ø 50 mm), Layher rods (ø 48.3 mm) and standard roof battens (max. 3 x 6 cm)
Can't find the product you're looking for? Are you looking for a different product? You will find the most popular standard products in our configurator. However, many other options are available on request, including extra-large formats, special shapes and unusual designs. Please contact us – we can manufacture mesh in almost any shape and size. We reserve the right to print the 260 g mesh tarpaulin material from other manufacturers, which is why some specifications may vary.
Note: The information on weather and UV resistance has been determined in studies conducted under Central European conditions. Use in regions with different climatic conditions (high humidity, strong UV radiation), such as in Southern European countries, tropical areas and desert regions, as well as in areas with high air pollution or at high altitudes, will cause a faster ageing process.
Mesh has many names. It is also known as...
There are many names for mesh: mesh fabric, grid mesh, mesh tarpaulin, mesh vinyl, PVC mesh and many more. The names vary depending on the industry and region. However, they all refer to the same thing: a mesh fabric with a perforated structure, coated with PVC, which is wind and sound permeable and can be printed on.
Mesh banners in use: What is this permeable fabric suitable for?
The 260 g mesh fabric is used wherever a particularly sound- and wind-permeable material is required. With properties such as weather resistance, tear resistance and dimensional stability, the open-mesh fabric offers decisive advantages for outdoor use.
The most popular areas of application include:
- facade banners
- Scaffolding advertising
- Large-format scaffolding cladding – advantage here: the mesh structure allows light to pass through covered windows
- Stage/grandstand cladding
- Advertising nets
- Side wings
- PA cladding
Mesh as an alternative to Soundmesh – inexpensive & better print quality: Vinyl mesh is a popular alternative to printed Soundmesh, as it is less expensive and offers better print quality. Please note, however, that the mesh vinyl is not sound-certified and its sound permeability is slightly lower than that of genuine Soundmesh, which can be exacerbated by rain. You can also find certified soundmesh in our shop.
Mesh fence tarps
For fence banners in particularly windy locations, we also recommend the 260 g/m² mesh. However, please bear in mind that the printed motif will only be fully visible from a certain viewing distance. For less windy locations or if the banner print is intended to be viewed from closer up, we recommend the slightly less permeable 300 g/m² mesh.
Suitable accessories for attaching fence banners & co.
You can also order the right accessories for attaching fence tarps, advertising banners and more in our shop! Our range includes a large selection of cable ties, bungee cords and elastic PP rope.
What alternatives are there to 260 g/m² mesh?
In addition to the 260 g/m² mesh with a relatively open mesh structure, we also offer 300 g/m² mesh with a finer mesh structure. Thanks to its finer mesh structure, this mesh offers high-quality print quality even at close range, but is less wind-permeable (approx. 20%).
Alternatively, we offer various windproof PVC banners with high-resolution premium digital print quality, even at close range. For wind-permeable flags and cloth banners, we recommend our flag fabric with 110 g/m² or the particularly wind-permeable polymesh (115 g/m²) with a perforated mesh structure.
Mesh net vinyl 260 g/m² compared to mesh 300 g/m²
Mesh with 300 g/m² or the more permeable version with only 260 g/m² – what is the difference and which material should you choose?
Mesh with 300 g/m² is a fine-mesh fabric that can be printed in high resolution with almost photo-realistic resolution and extremely intense colours. The wind permeability of mesh 300 g/m² is approx. 20%. The relatively fine fabric results in medium sound permeability.
The 260 g/m² mesh, on the other hand, offers good sound permeability and wind permeability of approx. 40%. Printing is good due to the coarser mesh structure, but depending on various factors, a corresponding viewing distance is necessary. The permeable mesh banner thus offers a good compromise between print quality and wind/sound permeability: acceptable print quality with good wind and sound permeability.
So if you are looking for a material that is wind-permeable but still value very good print results, you should choose Mesh 300 g/m². If, on the other hand, you are looking for a particularly wind-permeable fabric for exposed, very windy locations or airy heights (facade advertising, scaffolding advertising) that is also sound-permeable, for example for covering PA systems, then we recommend the 260 g/m² mesh.
Information on delivery, transport and storage
We deliver mesh banners folded as standard. Delivery on rolls is also possible on request and at an additional cost.
We recommend folding the mesh tarpaulins loosely for storage. Avoid weighing down the folded nets, for example by stacking many banners on top of each other. This can cause creases and the print image can become brittle at the edges. Alternatively, the mesh banners can be stored flat and rolled up.
Conclusion: Mesh 260 g/m² – dimensionally stable, wind-permeable advertising tarpaulins
Mesh with 260 g/m² is a versatile material. Highly wind-permeable and sound-permeable, dimensionally stable and tear-resistant even in windy locations, wind and weather resistant; also B1-certified and with good print quality – if you have all these requirements for your banner, then the 260 g vinyl mesh is the perfect choice for you!
