The universal double-sided adhesive tape GT 704 in premium quality is versatile and suitable for all bonding applications on most surfaces. The transparent double-sided adhesive tape is very strong and has a low adhesive strength. The carrier material – a highly transparent foil – allows for particularly inconspicuous installation.
The double-sided tape transparent can be used for events, but also in the household. It can help you as a laying tape or assembly tape and enables bonding with different adhesive strengths. The side covered with silicone-coated paper is extra strong adhesive (adhesive strength on steel 12 N/cm) and allows powerful fastening. The open side facing the substrate has a weaker adhesive strength ( adhesive strength 3.6 N/cm) and is largely repositionable. The very thin carrier, a foil with a thickness of 0.16 - 0.18 mm, clearly separates the two different adhesives (hot melt and acrylic).

Double-sided tape transparent GT 704 – different adhesive strengths
GT 704 double-sided transparent adhesive tape is a high-quality self-adhesive tape that is particularly suitable for temporary bonding of floor coverings at trade fairs and events and has good repositionability.
The extra-thin installation adhesive-tape/mounting tape with a hand-tearable foil as a carrier (, thickness 0.16–0.18 mm) is highly transparent ( ) and allows for virtually invisible installation.
The transparent double-sided adhesive tape is coated on both sides with different adhesives: It has a weaker adhesive side,, which sticks to surfaces and can also be removed again,. It also has an extra strong adhesive side, , which allows, for example, difficult carpet backs to be bonded or decorative materials to be attached. Of course, the universal double-sided adhesive tape is also suitable for a wide range of applications in the home, workshop or office – it can be used for invisible mounting, laying, fastening, joining, crafting, splicing, etc.
Notes: Please note: Due to possible colour changes, the GT 704 double-sided adhesive tape should not be used on high-quality floor coverings. This includes all very sensitive coverings such as untreated wood (parquet), marble and natural stone.
Double-sided tape transparent – a tape with different adhesive strengths
The transparent adhesive tape has two sides with different adhesive strengths, sticks strongly on both sides and has a very high tack (initial adhesive strength).
- The covered side (top), which is protected by a silicone-coated paper, has an extremely strong adhesive strength of 12 N/cm and adheres securely and permanently.
- The exposed side (bottom), which adheres to the substrate, has a lower adhesive strength (3.6 N/cm) and very good release properties. This side can be removed from many surfaces.
Tip: The double-sided adhesive tape with a highly transparent foil as a carrier ensures very inconspicuous bonding. The tape adheres particularly well to smooth surfaces, conforms to them very well and has very good repositionability.

Did you know? You can also purchase this double-sided adhesive tape in our shop as double-sided adhesive cloth tape (GT 703). This version of the double-sided adhesive tape has similar adhesive properties (3.1 N/cm open side and 7 N/cm closed side), but differs in its backing. Double-sided tape transparent – versatile use
The universal double-sided tape is versatile and suitable for bonding to many surfaces. The smooth, extra-thin adhesive film is easy to pull off the roll and enables clean bonding. The high flexibility of the tape ensures ultra-easy adhesion to smooth surfaces. The tape can also be used on rough and uneven surfaces. Thanks to the transparent film and its low thickness, the double-sided tape transparent is virtually invisible after application – ideal for inconspicuous bonding, joining, mounting and crafting.
The adhesive tape is very easy to pull off the roll. It can be torn by hand crosswise, but not lengthwise. Thanks to the foil backing, the double-sided adhesive tape can be pulled off easily and often in one piece. This is easier with this tape than with comparable tapes whose backing material is made of fabric. When removing double-sided adhesive tapes, always work slowly and pull the tape off at a 90° angle.
Tips for optimal adhesion and removal of double-sided adhesive tapes
Please ensure that the tape is applied at the ideal application temperature. For this tape, this is approx. +10°C to +30°C. Please press the double-sided tape down firmly. Only then remove the silicone paper and press the surfaces to be bonded firmly onto the carrier. Whether the double-sided adhesive tape can be removed without leaving any residue after use depends on various factors. These include the type and condition of the surface, the pressure applied during bonding, the duration of the bond itself, the temperature and other external factors affecting the double-sided adhesive tape.
To avoid unsightly colour changes on the surface, do not apply the tape to untreated wood, marble or other natural stone floors. The tape should also not be applied to painted surfaces or epoxy resin-coated floors.
For safety reasons, we recommend that our customers always carry out a test application on their individual surfaces under real bonding conditions (climate, temperature, mechanical stress, etc.).
