It adheres with medium adhesive strength (3.6 N/cm) to the substrate and provides a high adhesive strength and instant adhesion of 12 N/cm on the side covered by a siliconised paper. 100 mm wide double-sided tape – universal transparent double-sided adhesive tape with medium and strong adhesion
The transparent double-sided tape GT 704 is a high-quality self-adhesive tape that is particularly suitable for temporary bonding of your floor coverings at trade fairs and events and offers good repositionability.
The extra-thin laying tape / assembly tape with a film carrier that can be torn by hand (thickness 0.16 - 0.18 mm) is highly transparent and allows for an almost invisible installation.
The transparent double-sided tape is coated with different adhesives on both sides: It has a weaker adhesive side that adheres to surfaces and can also be removed again. It also has an extra-strong adhesive side that, for example, allows bonding of difficult carpet backings or the fixing of decorative materials. Of course, the universal double-sided tape is also suitable for versatile use in the home, workshop, or office – it can be used for invisible mounting, laying, fixing, joining, crafting, splicing, etc.
Note: Please note: Due to possible colour changes, the double-sided tape GT 704 should not be bonded to high-quality floor coverings. These include all very sensitive coverings such as untreated wood (parquet), marble, and natural stone.
Transparent double-sided tape – a tape with different adhesive strengths
The transparent adhesive tape has two sides with different adhesive strengths, it bonds strongly on both sides and has a very high tack (initial adhesive strength).
- The covered side (top), which is protected by a silicon-coated paper, bonds with an adhesive strength of 12 N/cm extremely strongly, ensuring secure and permanent adhesion.
- The open side (bottom), which adheres to the substrate, has weaker adhesion (3.6 N/cm) and offers very good repositionability. This side can be removed from many surfaces.
Tip: The double-sided tape with a highly transparent film carrier ensures a very discreet bond. The tape adheres particularly well to smooth surfaces, conforms very well to them, and offers very good repositionability there.

Did you know? You can also purchase this double-sided tape in our shop as double-sided adhesive cloth tape (GT 703). In this variant, the double-sided tape has a similar adhesive composition (3.1 N/cm open side and 7 N/cm covered side), but differs in the carrier. A cloth carrier offers the advantage that it can conform particularly well to rough, structured, porous, and deformed surfaces and therefore achieves higher adhesion to these substrates.

Did you know? This adhesive tape is also available as double-sided cloth tape (GT 703) with slightly lower adhesive strength on the covered side. This tape with a cloth carrier has similar technical properties but, due to the cloth and a thicker adhesive layer, cannot be removed quite as easily despite similar adhesive strength.
Transparent double-sided tape – versatile use
The universal double-sided tape can be used in a variety of ways and is suitable for bonding on many surfaces. We recommend our customers use the transparent double-sided tape as a temporarily adhering, transparent assembly tape, carpet tape, or laying tape for floor coverings, as well as double-sided tape for transparent fixing of decorations.
The flexible, extra-thin adhesive film can be easily pulled off the roll and enables clean bonding. The high flexibility of the tape ensures ultra-easy bonding on smooth surfaces. The tape can also be applied to rough and uneven surfaces. Due to the transparent film and the low thickness, the transparent double-sided tape is almost invisible after application – ideal conditions for discreet bonding, joining, assembly, and crafting.
The adhesive tape can be very easily pulled off the roll. It can be torn by hand crosswise but not lengthwise. Due to the film carrier, the double-sided tape can often be removed in one piece. This works better with this tape than with comparable tapes whose carrier material is made of cloth. When removing double-sided tapes, always work slowly and pull the tape off at a 90° angle.
Notes for optimal bonding and removal of double-sided tapes
Please ensure an ideal application temperature when bonding the tape. For this tape, it is approximately +10°C to +30°C. Press the double-sided tape firmly into place. Only then remove the silicon paper and press the surfaces to be bonded firmly onto the carrier. Whether the double-sided tape can be removed without residue after use depends on various factors, including the type and nature of the substrate, the pressure applied during bonding, the duration of the bond itself, the temperature, and other external factors affecting the double-sided tape.
To avoid unsightly colour changes on the substrate, do not bond untreated wood, marble, or other natural stone floors. The tape should also not adhere to painted surfaces or floors coated with epoxy resin.
For safety, we recommend our customers always carry out a test bond on their specific surfaces under real bonding conditions (climate, temperature, mechanical stress, etc.).

Storing double-sided tape – information
Please store the roll of adhesive tape in the box or packaging until use. Maximum 12 months at a temperature of approximately 20°C and relative humidity. The storage area should be dry and protected from light (no direct sunlight).
