Decorative molton B1 – roll 60 m
Do you need Molton for decorating on a stage, in a theatre, at a trade fair or in an event area, an inexpensive photo background or flame-retardant decorative fabrics for covering a wall? Then you are sure to be well advised with this flame-retardant decorative fabric.
Decorative molton is a light-permeable cotton fabric, napped on both sides, with a matt, non-reflective surface. Unlike stage molton, decorative molton has a light grammage (160 g/m² surface weight), a bale has a width of 300 cm and a length of 60 running metres.

The cotton fabric is 60 metres long and 3 metres wide in the entire bale. The grammage of decorative molton is 160 g per square metre. This corresponds to a weight of 30 kg per roll.

Decorative]fabrics must be flame-retardantfor decorationin public facilities and at events, for stage decoration and in exhibition stand construction. Decorative molton is impregnated with a flame retardant and has the B1 certificate according to DIN 4102. In addition, decorative molton – like stage molton – meets the classification C-s1, d0 according to DIN EN 13501-1 (EN 13773-c1). This means that decorative molton can also be used as trade fair molton and also meets strict fire protection requirements. The corresponding certificate is available on request.

Technical properties: decorative molton for decoration
Decorative molton is primarily a fabric for decoration and less of a technical fabric. The 100% cotton molton is woven in a plain weave and roughened on both sides. The roughening gives the decorative molton fabric its matte surface, which ensures optimal lighting conditions on the stage or at the trade fair as well as in the photo studio. Thanks to its light-absorbing properties, it does not reflect any spot or flash lights, even when used as a photo background or wall covering. The low weight per unit area makes it easy to work with. Decorative molton is perfect as a fabric sky or a light, coloured ceiling hanging fabric. The fabric can also be used for skirting or for covering frames and can be easily mounted (stapled).
Please note: decorative molton is not opaque and is therefore translucent! It is perfect for effective decorations with light (light installations), but not for blackout curtains. Molton with 160g grammage contributes less to sound insulation than stage molton with 300g. Molton decorative fabrics are therefore not suitable for acoustic curtains. Nevertheless, the molton fabric, with its pleasantly soft, fluffy feel, creates a pleasant ambience at events.
By the way: first-class quality molton fabric allows for precise cut edges and saves time during processing.
Stage molton: opaque curtain or backdrop
What exactly is the difference between stage molton and decorative molton? Stage molton is much heavier than decorative molton and weighs 300 g/m². It is also woven differently from our B1 decorative fabric. Stage molton is made in a twill weave and is therefore denser. This is why 300 g molton is opaque and absorbs more sound than decorative molton. Stage molton in black is even light-proof (blackout). Stage molton is used primarily as a backdrop (opaque stage background) and as a theatre curtain.
