Airtex is a stable polyester fabric with a textile feel. The opaque fabric has a coated, slightly shiny surface with a rough texture. The material offers excellent print quality with high colour brilliance.
Airtex is UV and weather resistant for 1-2 years and is also B1 certified as flame retardant in accordance with DIN 4102. This makes the material suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
The material is ideal for large-format advertising banners and other large surfaces in trade fair construction and stage design. Airtex banners are easy to use and handle, and various fastening options are available. Customised designs are also available on request.

Airtex 330 g/m² – textile banner with PVC coating
Airtex is a popular tarpaulin material with a textile feel and appearance. The material has a slightly glossy surface and a roughened structure that is ideal for printing. Airtex banners impress with their streak-free, high-resolution print quality in brilliant colours ( ) and with sharp, precise contours and lettering.
The banner material is certified as flame-retardant B1 in accordance with DIN 4102 and is therefore approved for use in public buildings. Airtex is also UV-resistant for 1-2 years and weatherproof, meaning it can also be used outdoors.

Printing Airtex banners – here's how
With our configurator, you can configure Airtex yourself in just a few clicks, and we will then print your desired product according to your specifications.
- Give each individual Airtex banner a name (optional) – this name will appear on all documents and you will always have an overview.
- Specify the width and height.
- Select the desired finishing for the top, bottom and side edges – there are various standard finishes to choose from.
- Save the product.
- Then add your finished Airtex banner to your shopping basket and complete your purchase or add another item.
- After successful purchase, you will receive an order confirmation and a link to our data sheet, which contains important information regarding the creation and transmission of your print data.
- You will then receive a second email with an order confirmation and a personalised link for uploading your print data.
- The order confirmation also contains the expected delivery date*.
- We will check your data for printability. We will automatically correct minor corrections for you. If the resolution or similar is not correct, we will actively contact you. This service is free of charge for you!
- As soon as the data is correct, your products will go to print.
- The Airtex banner will be shipped to you after production.
*Exception for prepayment: In this case, we will only start production of your printed materials after receipt of payment. The delivery date is therefore dependent on receipt of payment.

Airtex banners with customised finishing: flat hem, hemstitching, eyelets and more

The following finishing options are available (an explanation of the individual finishing types can be found below):
Cut or hemmed with a simple flat hem:
- cut (straight cut edges)
- hemmed (flat hem) with double safety seam

- hemmed (flat hem) with trim tape and eyelets (only in the corners)
- hemmed (flat hem) with binding tape and eyelets (every 50 cm)
With flat hem:

Airtex comes in rolls of 45 m, with a maximum print width of 4.8 m. Larger formats are also possible; these are welded together at the back.
Printing Airtex banners – information about print quality
Airtex consists of a textile base structure coated with PVC. The slightly roughened surface gives the print a high-quality look. The PVC coating gives Airtex a slightly glossy surface.
The material is easy to print on, streak-free, with high colour brilliance and clean, precise edges and lettering. Airtex is printed on one side using 6c digital printing (UV printing), with a maximum print width of 4.8 m. This makes the material ideal for large-scale prints. Larger formats are also possible by welding individual Airtex panels together at the back.

Simply cut with straight edges
- The Airtex advertising tarpaulin is cut to your desired size with straight edges. Thanks to its PVC coating, Airtex has a firm material structure, the edges cannot fray and remain exactly as cut.

Simply hemmed (flat hem) with double safety seam
- The material is simply folded over and the hem is secured with a double safety seam (two parallel seams). This makes the edges particularly stable.

Hemmed with edging tape
- Here, the Airtex banner is simply hemmed and reinforced with edging tape – for particularly stable edges!

Hemmed with binding tape and eyelets (only in the corners)
- The Airtex banner is hemmed with a flat seam. In addition, the banner is eyeleted in the corners with metal eyelets with an inner diameter of 12 mm. To reinforce the edges, the banner is provided with a reinforcing trim tape (textile tape) on the back.

Hemmed with edging tape and eyelets (every 50 cm)
- With this finish, the Airtex banner is also hemmed with a flat seam and reinforced with a trim tape. In addition, the edge you select is eyelet-reinforced at intervals of 50 cm (inner diameter approx. 12 mm).

With hollow hem, 4 cm, 8 cm or 10 cm wide
- The hollow hem is best suited for attaching the banner to ropes and poles. You can choose between three sizes, each measured on the flat hollow hem, to suit different rope diameters.
- Hollow hem 4 cm – for thin ropes and poles up to a maximum diameter of 2 cm
- Hollow hem 8 cm – for thicker ropes and poles up to max. 4 cm diameter
- Hollow hem 10 cm wide – for pipes (ø50 mm), Layher rods (ø48.3 mm), roof battens (max. 3 x 6 cm) and other rods up to max. 5 cm diameter

Note: The information on weather and UV resistance has been determined in studies conducted under Central European conditions. Use in regions with different climatic conditions (high humidity, strong UV radiation), such as in Southern European countries, tropical areas and desert regions, as well as in areas with high air pollution or at high altitudes, will cause a faster ageing process.
Airtex and its inherent odour: Airtex has a strong, chemical odour. The material cannot be washed and will only be odour-free after extensive ventilation.
Note on delivery and proper storage
Airtex is delivered rolled as standard; for widths of 6 m or more, we deliver folded.
The polyester fabric is crease-resistant and can be stored either rolled or loosely folded. Rolls should be stored flat and, if possible, lying flat over their entire surface. Always ensure dry storage to prevent mould growth.
What alternatives are there to Airtex?
Our range includes various polyester fabrics with a textile feel. Airtex is the most stable of these. With a material weight of 330 g/m² and a strong coating, Airtex is very dimensionally stable and less textile in feel than, for example, Artist Heavy and Solvotex fabric. These two fabrics are lightweight alternatives to Airtex, also made of polyester, but not UV and weather resistant.
As even thinner, lighter alternatives with a textile feel, we offer display fabric and flag fabric in various designs.
The right material for your project depends primarily on whether it will be used indoors or outdoors and how dimensionally stable and strong it needs to be.
