Artist Heavy is an extremely robust polyester fabric with a textile feel and appearance. The material is crease-resistant, opaque and has a silk-matt, low-reflection surface. It offers excellent print quality with high colour brilliance. The low material weight of 290 g/m² allows for easy processing.
Artist Heavy, also known as Solvotex, is B1-certified in accordance with DIN 4102 and therefore flame-resistant. The textile banner is mainly used indoors as a lightweight alternative to PVC banners, but can also be used outdoors.
The customisable decorative fabric (polyester fabric) can be printed seamlessly up to a width of 4.8 m and is therefore ideal for large-scale prints. Artist Heavy is particularly suitable for printing backgrounds in trade fair and stage construction, as cladding, covering or stylish advertising banners. The virtually crease-free material can be hung freely in the room and is also suitable for clamping into textile frames. Various finishing options are available for fastening, and individual special finishes are available on request at any time.

Artist Heavy 290 g/m² printing
Artist Heavy is a versatile polyester fabric with a high-quality look and feel that is particularly popular in trade fair and stage construction. The PVC-free material is crease-resistant, lightweight (290 g/m²) and, with its textile look, a popular alternative to heavy PVC banners, especially indoors.
Like all our printing materials, Artist Heavy is B1 certified according to DIN 4102 (flame retardant). Unlike most cloth banners, this material is UV-resistant and, depending on where it is used, weather-resistant for up to 6 months , making it suitable for outdoor use.
Artist Heavy is perfect as an individually printed decorative fabric that can be hung freely for stage and exhibition backdrops and partition walls. Due to its high-quality print quality, Artist Heavy, also known as Solvotex, is often used for mounting in textile frames. We manufacture the textile-like banner fabric individually to measure, with your desired finishing, and print it in high-resolution, colour-intensive 6c digital print!

With our configurator, you can customise Artist Heavy in just a few steps, and we will then print the material according to your motif specifications in the desired format.
- Give each individual Artist Heavy banner a name (optional) – this name will appear on all receipts and you will always have an overview.
- Specify the width and height.
- Select the desired finishing for the top, bottom and side edges – you can choose from a range of standard finishes.
- Save the product.
- Then add your finished Artist Heavy Banner to your shopping basket and complete your purchase or add another item.
- After successful purchase, you will receive an order confirmation and a link to our data sheet, which contains important information regarding the creation and transmission of your print data.
- You will then receive a second email with an order confirmation and a personalised link for uploading your print data.
- The order confirmation also contains the expected delivery date*.
- We will check your data for printability. We will automatically correct minor corrections for you. If the resolution or similar is incorrect, we will actively contact you. This service is free of charge for you!
- Once the data is correct, your products will go to print.
- The Artist Heavy banners will be shipped to you after production.
*Exception for prepayment: In this case, we will only start production of your printed materials after receipt of payment. The delivery date is therefore dependent on receipt of payment.

Finishing options for your individual fabric
We manufacture Artist Heavy in your desired size so that your banner fits perfectly! Different fastening types are suitable depending on the application. You can choose between eyelets, hemstitching, a simple flat hem and much more. We only use the highest quality accessories – for a durable, stable and easy fastening!
We offer the following finishing options as standard in our configurator:
Cut and hemmed:
- Cut (straight cut edge)

- hemmed with binding tape and eyelets (only in the corners)
- hemmed with binding tape and eyelets (every 50 cm)
With flat hem:

Artist Heavy has a maximum print width of 4.8 m. Larger formats are also possible by sewing individual panels together on the reverse side.
Artist Heavy printed – information on print quality
Artist Heavy offers excellent print quality; the finely structured, coated fabric can be printed with high colour brilliance. Edges and lines (lettering) are clean and precise, and colour gradients can also be reproduced well.
The fabric is printed on one side, and the maximum print width is 4.8 m. This makes the material ideal for large-scale prints. The surface is silk matt and non-reflective.

- The material is cut to your desired format with straight cut edges.
This finishing is suitable if you want to attach Artist Heafy with clamping strips, staple it or process it further in any other way.

- Here, Artist Heavy is also cut to your desired format with straight cut edges. The edges are finished with a double safety seam for clean, stable edges.

Hemmed with trim tape
- With this finish, the fabric is simply hemmed (flat hem) and reinforced on the back with a binding tape. The colour of the binding tape (textile tape) varies depending on the print colour and is selected by our print shop to match. This makes the edge stable and better protected against tearing.

Hemmed with binding tape and eyelets (only in the corners)
- Here, Artist Heavy is finished with a simple flat hem and reinforced at the edges with a colour-coordinated binding tape (textile tape). In addition, the material is eyelet-finished in the corners with metal eyelets with an inner diameter of 12 mm.

Hemmed with binding tape and eyelets (at 50 cm intervals)
- Here, the fabric is finished with a flat hem and reinforced on the back with a trim adhesive-tape/textile tape. In addition, the material is eyeleted at 50 cm intervals on the edge of your choice. The metal eyelets have an inner diameter of 12 mm.

With hollow seam 4 cm, 8 cm or 10 cm wide
- With the "with hemstripe" finish, you receive Artist Heavy with a hemstripe on the selected edge for threading ropes, rods, slats, etc. Ideal for hanging cloth banners and decorative banners in sales rooms, at trade fairs and events. You can choose between three sizes:
- 4 cm wide hemstitching – for ropes and thin rods up to a diameter of 2 cm
- Hollow hem 8 cm wide – for thicker rods and slats up to a diameter of 4 cm
- Hollow hem 10 cm wide – rods up to ø 5 cm

Note: The information on weather and UV resistance has been determined in studies conducted under Central European conditions. Use in regions with different climatic conditions (high humidity, strong UV radiation), such as in Southern European countries, tropical areas and desert regions, as well as in areas with high air pollution or at high altitudes, will cause a faster ageing process.
Artist Heavy and its inherent odour: Fresh from the printer, Artist Heavy has a strong inherent odour. The material cannot be washed, but the odour will dissipate after thorough ventilation.

Artist Heavy is a textile banner and is primarily suitable for indoor use. Thanks to its weather resistance and UV resistance of 6 months, the material can also be used outdoors for a limited period of time. With its seamless print width of 4.8 m, we also recommend Artist Heavy for large formats.

Note on delivery and proper storage
We deliver Artist Heavy on rolls as standard. Rolls wider than 6 m are delivered folded.
Artist Heavy can be loosely folded or rolled for storage. When storing rolls, make sure that they are laid flat and that as much of the surface area as possible is in contact with the storage surface. Always store in a dry place to prevent mould growth.
What alternatives are there to Artist Heavy?
In addition to Artist Heavy, we have several very similar polyester fabrics with a textile feel in our range:
- Lighter version with a textile feel: Solvotex PES fabric with 240 g/m². Solvotex is slightly stretchy, somewhat more flowing and softer to the touch.
- Dimensionally stable alternative for outdoor use: Airtex 330 g/m². This polyester fabric has a stronger coating and a slightly rough surface, is more dimensionally stable and also suitable for longer outdoor use.
