Print on forex plates

Forex plates are very light and extremely stable plates. We print forex plates in different thicknesses, from a fine 2 mm to a very stable 8 mm. The material is extremely versatile and, depending on its thickness, is suitable for signposting and routing systems at cycling events, marathons, festivals, as decoration in stage and backdrop construction, for pagoda cladding, as displays, (construction) signs and much more.

PVC Forex offers high inherent stability and is weatherproof and UV-resistant. We print the white through-coloured PVC Forex plate in 6c digital printing, the smooth surface is silk-matt and reflection-free. We cut the Forex plate with straight edges according to your specifications. Free-form (contour cut) is also possible on request.

You can choose from 4 different thicknesses of forex plate:

2 mm: thin, light plate for temporary signage
3 mm: light, durable plate (not break-proof)
5 mm: stable, durable plate, also for large formats and contour cutting
8 mm: very durable, stable plate, ideal for large formats

With our configurator, you can customise the forex plate yourself. We will manufacture the plate in your desired size and print it with your individual image/motif, etc.

It's so easy to order:

Give each individual plate a name (optional) – this name will appear on all documents and you will always have an overview.
Specify the width and height.
Save the product.
Then add your configured plate to the shopping basket and complete your purchase or add another item.
After a successful purchase, you will receive an order confirmation for your forex plate and a link to our data sheet, which contains important information regarding the transfer of your print data.
You will then receive a second e-mail with an order confirmation and a personalised link for uploading your print data.
The order confirmation also contains the provisional delivery date*.
We check your data for printability. We automatically correct minor errors for you. If the resolution or similar is not correct, we will actively contact you. This service is free of charge for you!
As soon as the data is correct, your products go to print.
The forex plates will be sent to you after production.

Exception: advance payment. In this case, we will not start production of your printed matter until we have received your payment. Accordingly, the delivery date depends on when we receive your payment

Please make sure that your print data is carefully created. Confirmed print orders are custom-made and cannot be exchanged.

Print on Forex plates – printing details

Forex hard foam plates have a smooth, silk-matt and homogeneous surface, offering very good print quality with rich colour reproduction. Only very small motifs do not come out with absolute detail. We print forex plates on one side using 6c digital printing; double-sided printing is possible on request.

The maximum size for a single-piece print is 3.00 m x 1.51 m (including printing and cutting).

Finishing of the PVC hard foam plate: square cut or contour cut

Forex plates are cut precisely to your desired size. You can choose from a rectangular cut (rectangular / square) up to a size of 3.00 m x 1.51 m. The minimum size is 20 cm x 20 cm. We will be happy to calculate smaller formats for you on request.

In addition, Forex plates can be milled to contour, individually according to your specifications in any special form. We will be happy to advise you personally on this!

3.00 m x 1.51 m are too small for you? No problem! We print larger formats on several plates, which you can seamlessly join together during assembly thanks to the clean cut edges.

By the way: you can also easily mill forex plates yourself at a later date if you need to make minor corrections on site because the dimensions have changed, etc.

When doing so, make sure that the tool geometry is suitable for plastic and that the machining conditions are appropriate to avoid overheating the material.

The Forex PVC hard foam plates are white plastic plates with a homogeneous, silk-matt surface. The foamed plates are light but still stable.

What are printed Forex plates suitable for and which thickness should I choose?

Forex hard foam plates in different thicknesses are suitable for different applications. While the 2 mm thick plates are relatively thin, but light and inexpensive, the 8 mm plates are very robust, but also have a higher weight.

Generally speaking, the thicker the sheet, the higher its inherent stability. All Forex sheets are weather-resistant and light-tight.

It is difficult to make a precise classification of which thickness is best suited for which application. The plates are extremely versatile, here are a few important points to help you decide on the right plate:

The thicker the sheet, the higher its inherent stability.
As a rule of thumb, the larger and more freely suspended the sign, the thicker it should be.
In principle, all thicknesses can be cut to contour, but experience has shown that 5 mm and 8 mm sheets are best suited for large plates.
For signs that need to be lightweight, we recommend 2 or 3 mm panels.

A note on the application temperature: The plastic plate can expand when exposed to heat and contract again when exposed to cold (dilatation). Dark plates heat up more in the sun than light ones. Plates that are mounted in unventilated rooms (e.g. shop windows) can heat up to 80°C when exposed to sunlight, which can cause the plates to deform. Outdoor storage in strong sunlight can also cause plates to bend (be careful at summer festivals!).

Fixing Forex signs – tips and accessories

Depending on what you are using Forex for, different attachments are suitable. Popular options for mounting are:

washers and screws
sign stands
rails for insertion
double-sided tape (for small formats)
staples

Notes on delivery and storage

We deliver Forex plates and signs with edge protection as standard. This protects the edges better from breaking.

Forex boards are durable and robust and can be reused. Make sure that they are stored in a dry place, protected from sunlight, at around 20°C. Storing them outside, especially when they are packed, can cause them to warp. Protect the boards from edge breakage and scratches.

What are the alternatives to Forex plates?

In addition to the sturdy Forex panels, we also offer a variety of other panel materials.

The Alu Dibond panels are even more robust and durable – the most stable panel material in our range. The aluminium composite panels with a smooth surface are suitable for permanent signage and wherever particularly robust panels are required.

As a low-priced alternative for temporary use, we recommend the honeycomb plates and hollow chamber plates, which are very popular for election posters, festival signage, event directions, etc.
