The tunnel tape, a version of our popular GT 571 cloth tape from our own GRIP Eventbasics brand, is a speciality adhesive and has been specially developed to bond cables with minimal damage to the material: The roll, which is 15 m long and 150 mm wide , has an adhesive-free tunnel covered by a foil in the middle , which is 80 mm wide and through which cables, wires and hoses can be laid without coming into contact with the adhesive – for example, on the floor or on stage.
Otherwise, the cable tape impresses with its usual high professional quality: Gaffa Tape GT 571 offers a non-corrosive adhesive ( natural rubber) with high immediate adhesion and very high adhesive strength (adhesive strength on steel 6 N/cm), even on sensitive surfaces – yet it can be removed without leaving any residue for up to 48 hours. The cloth tape with a polyethylene-coated, glossy surface is waterproof, particularly abrasion-resistant and impresses with its high tear resistance. The tape can be used both indoors and outdoors.
The very fine fabric is not only particularly adaptable to shapes , flexible and cling , and adheres to a wide variety of surfaces, but can also be easily torn off the roll by hand. The hand tear edges are particularly clean across the width. You can purchase the tunnel tape here in black or as warning adhesive-tape/marking tape in black and yellow ( ly striped). Alternative adhesive tapes: You can order various versions of the GT 571 cloth tape from our shop, including extra wide cloth tape, extra wide neon cloth tape, extra wide warning tape and warning marking tape in black and yellow or red and white – both are fully adhesive cloth adhesive tapes.
Tunneltape – an adhesive tape that forms a tunnel for cables
The tunnel tape has a total width of 150 mm, with a central width of 80 mm covered by a foil, leaving the tape free of adhesive. The tape is an inexpensive and particularly trip-proof alternative to cable protectors. Simply lay cables, hoses and pipes, for example on the stage or on the floor, stick tunnel tape over them – done !
In addition to the rather inconspicuous black colour, the cable tape is also available as a floor marking tape in yellow and black stripes.

Tunnel Tape GT 571: For simple cable laying
Are cable protectors overkill or too expensive to install? The 150-mm-wide GT 571 cable tape is a cost-effective and time-saving alternative. The adhesive tape is not coated in the middle of an 80-mm-wide section. Cables, pipes and hoses do not come into contact with the adhesive and can be wound up cleanly and free of adhesive residue after bonding. The adhesive cloth tapes, which have a high abrasion resistance and a special tape thickness of 0.3 mm, can be used indoors and outdoors on smooth, rough and uneven surfaces. The tunnel tape is heat-resistant and adheres securely in a wide temperature range from -35°C to +80°C. The high-quality adhesive system (non-corrosive natural rubber) allows bonding even on sensitive surfaces. The tape can be removed without leaving any residue for up to 48 hours – even if it is not properly applied, the tape can still be repositioned.
by hand: The tape can be easily torn off the roll. Clean edges can be torn by hand, both horizontally and vertically.
Other products for cable laying
In addition to cable tape, we also offer other products for trip-free cable laying: you can purchase cable protectors in various designs (different widths, cable ducts, etc.) and cable mats (fine mesh rubber mats) from our range.
Adhesive tapes with non-corrosive adhesive
Like all GT 571 cloth tapes, the tunnel tape has a non-corrosive adhesive. This adhesive technology is of a particularly high quality and free of additives. In contrast, cheaper tapes are equipped with substances that can cause discolouration or material damage.
like bacon, but isn't! The Grip GT 571 is coated with a natural rubber adhesive and may have a slight smell of smoke due to the production process. This process removes moisture from the raw material, making it less susceptible to condensation and more stable when exposed to temperature fluctuations.

Press the adhesive tape on as firmly as possible to achieve the best possible adhesion (especially with rough surfaces). The GT 571 tunnel tape has an optimal application temperature between +10° C and +45° C.
Storing tunnel tapes
Please store the adhesive tape at a room temperature of about +12°C to +25°C and normal humidity. Please protect adhesive tapes from strong temperature fluctuations and direct UV radiation.
