The fire retardant Bioretard® is a ready-to-use, aqueous solution for impregnating natural fibres in accordance with DIN 4102. The flame retardant makes materials such as textiles, e.g. molton or natural materials such as paper and wood, flame-resistant. Bioretard is highly effective, halogen-free and water-soluble. You can buy the Bioretard fire retardant in practical 5 l, 10 l or 25 l canisters.
Please note: Due to the essential oils contained in the needles, it is not suitable for (real) Christmas trees, Advent wreaths and other decorations made from pine branches .

Bioretard® is the ideal fire retardant for all absorbent natural materials and cellulose. The flame retardants are suitable for use on stages, at trade fairs and in restaurants. When handled in accordance with regulations, the treated materials comply with DIN 4102 B1. The fire retardants can be used as a spray or as an impregnation in an immersion bath. It is suitable for all fibres that contain wool, synthetic raffia, synthetic hair or fleece based on cellulose. Paper, cardboard, building materials such as thin plywood, fabrics or silk can also be easily treated with the fire retardants. You can order the fire retardants in a practical canister for refilling your fire protection spray or for use in an immersion bath.
Materials that are properly impregnated with the fire protection spray Bioretard are B1-difficult to ignite according to DIN 4102. Thus, the treated building materials meet the fire protection requirements of most authorities and insurers.
Bioretard is a fire protection agent. The product has the following properties:

Bioretard® is a clear, colourless flame retardant based on ammonium phosphorus-sulphur compounds dissolved in water. The pH of Bioretard® flame retardant is approximately 6.5-7.5.
The agent is:
Nevertheless, we recommend the use of protective gloves as a matter of principle.
The fire retardants can be used in different ways depending on the nature and condition of the materials to be impregnated. They can be applied either by immersion or spraying. We always recommend testing the materials to be impregnated for material compatibility in advance on a small area.
Bioretard]is a ready-to-use, aqueous solution used for natural fibres. The required amount of fire retardants per square metre depends on the material and its absorbency: a thin fabric requires about 100 ml/m², a thick terry cloth much more. The recommended application rate for Bioretard is 0.2-0.5 l/m², according to the manufacturer, to comply with DIN 4102.
Building materials treated with flame retardants may lose their fire protection if used for long periods or if subjected to mechanical impact. Dust, grease or nicotine deposits also reduce the desired effectiveness. It is therefore recommended that the fire protection be cleaned and renewed regularly. Materials treated with flame retardants must not be heated above 130°C.
