Have you ever laid carpeting? Laying dance carpets is basically no different. Just roll out the dance floor, butt-join it, glue it down, and you're done.
For gluing the sections together, we recommend:
: Marley Floor has a strong inherent odour that may be perceived as unpleasant. We recommend (especially when laying the floor in smaller rooms) that the room be adequately ventilated after installation before the start of the event.
The transport of dance carpets should be done carefully – caution! The dance floors have a high dead weight. Do not place the edges of the roll diagonally over loading ramps. The transport should only be carried out horizontally by 2 people or with a forklift and mandrel. Alternatively, upright with a hand truck. Complaints due to incorrect transport or improper storage will not be accepted.
Dance carpets are very easy to care for. Please only use pH-neutral cleaning agents. Dance carpets are easy to store. To avoid creasing, we recommend rolling the dance carpet back onto the core and storing it lying flat in a dry place.
: sharp-edged objects or stage equipment, as well as shoes that get wet and exert a high point load on the material, can damage the Marley Floor surface (e.g. scratches). The Marley Floor is therefore not suitable for tap dancing and for dancers with reinforced shoes. Similarly, rubber soles can leave unsightly marks on the floor. In addition, the Marley Floor can become slippery when wet.
Please note: Marley Floor is a temporary dance floor for events. The dance floor is not designed for permanent installation or long-term use.
It is important to know that Marley Floors are the original PVC dance carpets from the British company "Marley Flooring", a company that was founded in 1948 and stopped producing the dance floor covering in the 1970s. However, the term Marley Floor has become established among dancers and in the event industry for a PVC roll-out dance floor. Just as the name "Tempo" is still used for handkerchiefs today. This dance floor was particularly popular with ballet dancers because it was "easy on the feet" and was considered THE dance floor for rehearsal studios and shows. To this day, the industry still uses the term Marley Floor as a synonym for PVC-coated dance floors on a roll.
