The Frontlit B1 banner is our strongest PVC tarpaulin at 650 g/m² and is extremely tear-resistant thanks to its fabric reinforcement. -
PVC tarpaulin cut with straight cut edge
- In this version, the material is simply cut with straight edges. This version is particularly suitable if you want to staple the Frontlit tarpaulins like posters / billboards on wooden frames or attach them with Holdon clips.
-
cut and with eyelets (at 50 cm intervals)
- In this case, the advertising tarpaulin is also cut with straight edges in the desired size and then eyed on the selected side, with metal eyelets at 50 cm intervals. The inner diameter of an eyelet is 12 mm. We recommend this type of finishing for advertising tarpaulins that are in use for a short time or in protected places, as well as for banners up to a height of approx. 120 cm.
-
PVC tarpaulin hemmed
- In this type of finish, the material is simply folded over at the selected edge and welded on the back. This makes the tarpaulin particularly stable. The version with a single hem is suitable for tarpaulins and banners that are stapled or screwed onto frames with washers and whose edges need to be particularly well protected from tearing.
-
Hemmed and with grommets (only in the corners)
- The Frontlit banner is hemmed at the selected edge as described above (simply folded over and welded on the back). In addition, the corners of the banner are reinforced with metal eyelets (eyelet inner diameter: approx. 12 mm). We recommend this option for small advertising banners up to approx. 1 m². For larger banners, we recommend the version with eyelets every 50 cm.
-
Most popular finish: hemmed and with eyelets (every 50 cm)
- The version most frequently ordered by our customers is hemmed and with eyelets every 50 cm. In this case, the tarp is simply hemmed at the selected edge (folded over once, welded on the back) and then eyed at 50 cm intervals (metal eyelets, inner diameter approx. 12 mm). The hem protects the eyelets from being torn out, and advertising banners, tarpaulins, scaffolding banners and more can be tensioned securely and without creases.
-
Blockout banners with hollow hem, 4 cm, 8 cm or 10 cm (flat)
- For attachment with poles or ropes, we offer the option of a hemstitch finish. This is available in three widths, each measured at the hemstitch when laid flat, to suit poles and ropes of different thicknesses. You can choose from the following dimensions:
- 4 cm wide (laid flat) – for thin wooden and metal rods with a maximum diameter of 2 cm.
- 8 cm wide (laid flat) – for poles with a max. diameter of 4 cm.
- 10 cm wide (laid flat) – for pipes (ø 50 mm), Layher bars (ø 48.3 mm) and standard roof battens (max. 3 x 6 cm).
Depending on]the application, a different type of finishing is particularly suitable, which is why it is difficult to recommend a specific finishing for the Frontlit PVC. In addition to the standard finishings mentioned above, we also regularly produce customised products for our customers. For example, the following design is popular at open-air festivals: a narrow, eyed banner is used as a frame banner, with the actual main banner attached to it with an extra-wide Velcro strip. In the event of an evacuation (in the event of severe weather), the main banner can then be quickly and easily taken down.
We will be happy to produce these and other customisations for you on request. Please contact us personally at +49 89-122 89 06 22

Top-quality cast tarpaulins
banners often consist of a layer of fabric covered with PVC. In contrast, our PVC banners consist of a layer of fabric that is coated with liquid PVC. The internal fabric makes the tarpaulin particularly robust against tensile forces that can arise when tensioning. The opaque banner has a black separating layer (light barrier layer) incorporated between the printable front and back sides. This makes the banner completely opaque and light-proof (blockout). The cast PVC surface is also excellent for printing on.
Note: The information on weather and UV resistance has been determined in studies under Central European conditions. Use in regions with different climatic conditions (high humidity, strong UV radiation), such as in southern European countries, tropical areas and desert regions, as well as in areas with heavy air pollution or at high altitudes, causes a faster aging process.
Frontlit has many names. It is also referred to as...
Frontlit]is the most commonly used term for a banner made of PVC material. Depending on the region and industry, the opaque 650 g/m² tarpaulin is also referred to as a blockout banner, blockout tarpaulin or sheet. Less commonly, frontlit is also referred to as a truck tarpaulin. Which is actually not entirely correct. Because if you look at it closely, the classic truck tarpaulin is approx. 900 g/m².
Information on delivery and storage
The opaque banner is rolled as standard, which saves space and ensures it is delivered without creases. It is always rolled on the short side, so the length of the short side determines the roll length for delivery.
From 6 m upwards, the Frontlit tarpaulin is delivered folded.
For storage, we also recommend rolling the Blockout advertising tarpaulins. This is the best way to protect them from creases and wrinkles. Make absolutely sure that the Frontlit PVC tarpaulin is completely dry, otherwise mould may form.
What are the alternative products to the blockout tarpaulin? – Mesh and much more.
We have a range of different Frontlit banners in our assortment. As a slightly lighter advertising tarpaulin, we offer Frontlit without a blockout layer and with 500 g/m², which is also B1-certified. As a low-priced alternative without B1 certification, we recommend the Frontlit banner with 480 g/m², a laminated advertising banner at an extremely low price for short-term outdoor use.
Do you want your advertising banner to be permeable to wind? Then vinyl mesh is the perfect choice for you: a wind-permeable advertising mesh with a high-quality print image – ideal as outdoor advertising for windy locations!
What is the Blockout Banner suitable for?
Like all Frontlit banners, the 650 g/m² banner is extremely versatile.
What makes this Frontlit banner so special is the black separating layer on the inside. While other PVC banners may reveal the presence of truss or scaffolding poles on the back under unfavourable lighting conditions, the opaque 650 g banner offers absolute opacity and light-proofing.
We have already printed the material in a wide variety of formats with the most unusual motifs. Here is a small selection of possible uses:
- Displays
- advertising banners
- fence tarp
- bridge advertising
- motorway advertising
- scaffolding banners
- barrier banners
- stable stage banners
- exhibition banners
- exhibition wall panelling
- sponsor banners
- signage for catering
- ribbon banners
- and much more.
Further possible uses include:
- ceiling danglers
- ceiling banners
- completely light-proof stage covering
- trade fair stand covering on the sides and back wall
The double-sided printed Frontlit banner is also often used as:
- double-sided advertising on scaffolding, fences, railings,
- fence tarp at open-air sites
- orientation banners
- finish line banner (marathon, sporting events)
- double-sided signposting for site fences and other fences
- roof covers, pagoda roofs
green"The right accessories for attaching advertising tarpaulins indoors and outdoors, such as tensioning ropes, bungee cords and cable ties, can also be ordered in the shop!
General note on windproof tarpaulins: Caution in strong winds!
The Blockout PVC tarpaulin is a full tarpaulin with a closed surface that is not permeable to wind. In particularly exposed, windy places (e.g. scaffolding, in the mountains, etc.) and during storms, large tarpaulins in particular should only be attached with extreme caution. This is because advertising tarpaulins act like sails in the wind, and in a storm there is a risk that the eyelets will rip out and the banners will literally fly through the air. For use in windy areas, we therefore generally recommend wind-permeable mesh banners, which you can also order individually printed in the shop.
Conclusion: Frontlit B1 blockout – high-quality, opaque advertising tarpaulins with the best printing
Frontlit banners are extremely versatile. Thanks to the internal separating layer, the 650 g/m² frontlit is, unlike simple pvc banners, completely light- and view-proof (opaque), regardless of the strength and direction of the light.
If you are looking for a stable and robust banner with high tear resistance that can optimally withstand tensile forces, that is weather-resistant but does not need to be permeable to wind, that has a B1-certified material and is therefore approved for outdoor and indoor use, and that also impresses with high-quality tarpaulin printing, even at a small viewing distance – then the opaque Frontlit PVC tarpaulin 650 g/m² is the perfect choice for you!
