Masking tape is a tough, tear-resistant adhesive tape made of crepe paper. The crepe surface is matt, writable and resistant to moisture. The masking tape (50 mm wide) is used as a covering tape for masking during painting work and as a marking and labelling tape in the event industry.
The masking tape has a natural rubber adhesive, low initial adhesion and medium adhesive strength (adhesive strength on steel 2.6 N/cm) and can be repositioned as required. The painter's tape sticks to many surfaces and is extremely adaptable to different shapes. It is easy to remove and can be removed without leaving any residue for up to 2 weeks.
You can buy the masking tape in 50 mm x 50 m at a low price in our shop. As a narrow alternative, we recommend the fine masking tape, a 19 mm narrow masking tape.

Masking tape: masking, marking and much more
Thanks to its versatile properties, crepe tape is universally suitable for the following applications:
- Painter's tape: Masking tape is ideal for covering/masking walls, doors, floors, tiles and other sensitive surfaces during painting and renovation work, even on rounded and curved surfaces.
- Covering tape and labelling tape: Film canisters and electrical devices can be sealed dust-free with painter's tape and then labelled.
- Marking adhesive-tape/masking tape: Lighting and sound engineers use easily removable masking tape to mark important positions on stage, on mixing desks and much more.
- Cable tape: After bundling cables and wires, masking tape can be removed without leaving any residue.
Use masking tape: Note
Due to its medium initial adhesion, you can correct the masking tape after sticking it on; it can be easily removed for up to 2 weeks.
Tips for creating colour edges and curves with masking tape: Apply the masking tape to the surface with tension and use a ruler or spirit level if necessary to achieve straight lines with the masking tape. Bonding surfaces with curves or curved lines is also no problem if the adhesive tape is folded.
Note: The manufacturer's guarantee of adhesion refers to the perfect condition of the adhesive tape itself. We pass on all product information to our customers to the best of our knowledge and belief. However, as individual working conditions (environmental influences, surfaces and processing) are beyond our control, we cannot accept any liability for any damage that may occur. To avoid damage, we recommend testing the individual processing conditions of the surfaces.
When should the masking tape be removed?
Please do not pull the painter's tape off the surface abruptly and only do so once the paint is completely dry! This prevents paint from running under the adhesive tape. The painter's tape can be removed from the surface without leaving any residue within approx. 2 weeks.
Storing masking tape correctly
It is best to store the masking tape in its packaging at a storage temperature of approx. +12°C to +25°C and protected from sunlight. A partially used roll of adhesive tape should be stored in a dry and clean place.
