At 120 x 300 cm, the boom flag is a popular standard size that has proven its worth in many ways. To ensure that the flag is securely attached to the flagpole, you can choose between different versions: the side facing the flagpole with reinforcing trim tape and eyelets or plastic snap hooks (every 100 cm). The top edge with a simple hem or with a hollow hem – suitable for a mast with a bracket, so that your flag will be perfectly shaped even when there is no wind.

The material – a light flag fabric at 110 g/m² – is weather-resistant and durable. We print the flags with your customised motif in our event print shop, with intense colours and perfect print-through (60%) – for maximum advertising impact on both sides!

Our hoist flags are made of flag fabric, a light and very durable material that is ideal for flags. Here is an overview of the properties:

Note: The information on weather and UV resistance was determined in studies under Central European conditions. Use in regions with different climatic conditions (high humidity, strong UV radiation), such as in southern European countries, tropical areas and desert regions, as well as in areas with heavy air pollution or at high altitudes, will cause a faster ageing process.

Size and packaging of the hoist flag

For which flagpoles is the flag suitable?

• For flagpoles from 6-8 m: As a rule of thumb for portrait format flags, the flag should fill about half of the pole height. The 3 m high flag is therefore suitable for flagpoles from about 6 m to 8 m.
• For flagpoles with or without brackets: For a pole with a bracket, choose the flag with a hollow seam. The hollow seam measures 8 cm when laid flat, making it suitable for brackets up to a maximum diameter of 4 cm .

Hoist flag with high-resolution print

Textiles absorb the printing colours particularly well, which is why printing on fabrics generally results in very rich, brilliant colours. We print the flag fabric using high-resolution 6c digital printing (thermal sublimation printing). In this printing process, the ink is printed onto the fabric and then evaporated with heat, resulting in a particularly colour-intensive print image with perfect print-through.

Boom flags are printed on one side . The print motif is visible on both sides due to the 60% print-through, but it is mirror-inverted on the back and the colours are slightly less intense. Flag fabric is very translucent, and how much of the print motif can ultimately be seen through it depends on the lighting. The surface of the flag is silk-matt and non-reflective.

A word about UV and weather resistance

The boom flag made of flag fabric impresses with its high-quality, hard-wearing material and high weather resistance. Many manufacturers give a general weather and UV stability of 3 years. This information is correct if the flag is used indoors.

However, most flags are used outdoors, at lofty heights, where they are exposed to sun, wind and weather over long periods of time. Three years is unrealistic here; weather and strong winds can cause material wear sooner or later. It is therefore difficult to provide a general specification for weather and UV stability. To be on the safe side, we therefore specify 0.5-2 years.

Can the boom flag be washed? – Information on care and storage

The flag is easy to care for and can be washed at 30°C on a gentle cycle (fine detergent). But be careful! Washing and ironing can, however, cause the flame retardancy to be lost. The boom flag is only B1 again if it is professionally impregnated with flame retardants.

To prevent the flag from getting wrinkles in storage, we recommend folding or rolling the fabric loosely. Also, make sure that the flag is completely dry to avoid mould growth.
