How must emergency exits be marked? Since October 2012, warning and safety signs have been subject to an internationally harmonised standard, EN ISO 7010. It replaces the previously valid DIN 4844 (BGV A8) for rescue signs. This regulation governs the uniform appearance and internationally understandable marking of escape routes and safety signs (without text).
