- Hay
- Bast
- Straw
- Coconut fibre material

How is the fire protection spray applied?
- Small, already decorated materials can be easily sprayed with the fire protection spray. Larger fabrics and yard goods should be dipped in the flame retardant. This may require more than 1 litre, so we recommend the Safeimp flame retardant in a canister for this purpose.
- After the materials / decorations have been impregnated, the applied fire retardant should be left to dry at room temperature. Under certain circumstances, the Antiflame impregnation may change the colour. We therefore always recommend carrying out a preliminary test on a small area.
- The amount of to be applied depends on the absorbency of the material. According to the manufacturer, the recommended application rate is approx. 0.2 - 0.5 litres/m².
Please note: Hay, reeds, straw, willow, etc. must be thoroughly saturated and absorbent (uncoated) in order to achieve optimum flame retardancy.
The materials to be impregnated should be dry and should not be heated with a hair dryer or tumble dryer.
Flame retardant according to building material class B1 (DIN 4102)
After proper application of our Safeimp B1 Spray, the materials (hay, bast, coconut fibres, dried flowers, etc.) are flame retardant according to DIN 4102 / building material class B1. This means that the official fire protection requirements are met.
Safeimp is a very effective flame retardant. Its efficiency is due to the very high concentration of the active ingredient. According to the manufacturer, however, a preliminary flame test with the material you have impregnated is still necessary!
What should be considered when using B1 Spray?

Easy impregnation thanks to spray bottle
- Impregnated materials can lose their flame protection after prolonged use. Nicotine, dust and grease deposits also reduce the desired effect. It is therefore advisable to reapply the fire retardant depending on use.
- Light-coloured fabrics are particularly sensitive and the spray may affect their colour fastness.
- Even after treatment with B1 Spray, the material should not be heated to above 130°C.
For even more fire protection: Safeimp in a canister
In addition to the 1 litre spray bottle, we also offer Safeimp flame retardant in a canister, available in 5 litre, 10 litre or 25 litre sizes. The canister is also practical for refilling the spray bottle.
