Using GRIP chalk spray
Spraying with GRIP chalk spray is easy: shake well (for 2 minutes!), turn the cap and spray at a distance of 25-30 cm onto the desired area. Done!
If you hold the spray nozzle downwards, you do not need floor protection. And don't forget: always do a spray test first!
Important: check material compatibility in advance
We generally recommend that you carry out a spray test in a small, inconspicuous place before use . Test the chalk spray on the material you want to use to test the adhesion properties and material compatibility. This is how you ensure that the chalk spray is suitable for your surface.

GRIP chalk spray – good for large-area applications
The spray chalk GRIP is characterised by a longer durability than our allbuyone spray chalk. The durability is strongly dependent on the surface.
The marking spray is suitable for long-term markings and is visible for up to several weeks. We recommend it for marking meadows, forest paths, etc., for example at festivals or sporting events, on sandy surfaces (festivals, etc.) or on construction sites. Thanks to environmentally friendly substances, the spray can be used without hesitation in horticulture and agriculture.
For asphalt and paving stones, where the marking should disappear again without leaving any residue after a weekend, we recommend our allbuyone chalk spray.
What surfaces is the GRIP marking spray suitable for?
The chalk spray is suitable for both smooth and uneven surfaces:
- asphalt
- concrete
- grass/lawn
- wood*
- snow
- Sand
- Earth
- metal
- stone
- masonry
- and much more.
Please note:. The chalk spray is not suitable for painted and varnished surfaces (e.g. cars). Chalk particles can also permanently penetrate freshly asphalted surfaces. The spray is not suitable for use on the skin due to the alcohol it contains.
Please note: the coarser the pores of the wood (e.g. bark), the more difficult it is to remove.
How long does GRIP spray chalk last?
GRIP chalk spray can be stored for several weeks (longer than allbuyone chalk spray). Chalk spray generally adheres to smooth, rough, uneven and porous surfaces.
How long the marking actually lasts depends on:
- the stress
- weather conditions
- the surface properties (smooth/porous)
Weather: the weatherin particular can influence the durability of spray chalk: in heavy rain, the colour may dissolve after just a few days under certain circumstances. During a heatwave, the chalk can remain for many weeks. When used on asphalt, the colour pigments can penetrate into the road surface when the tar melts in midsummer.
When used over a large area, the durability of chalk spray depends on the thickness of the applied layer, any pigment fly and mechanical abrasion.
Conclusion on removability:. Care should be taken with textured, painted and highly absorbent surfaces and non-alcohol-resistant material. We generally advise against using it on car paintwork! The fine-pored, crystalline and reflective surface of zebra crossings is also not suitable for chalk spray.
How can chalk spray be removed?
Chalk spray consists of fine particles of chalk suspended in alcohol, which quickly evaporates when sprayed. The binder-free colour particles adhere to the sprayed surface, but do not form a firm bond with the substrate.
In many cases, the removal takes care of itself over time, for example through rain or mechanical abrasion (cars, pedestrians). Alternatively, you can help with a little water and a broom / brush, or a high-pressure cleaner, depending on the surface.
Chalk is easier to remove from smooth surfaces than from porous, coarse-textured or absorbent materials. This is not due to the chalk itself, but to the fact that on uneven surfaces individual colour particles can get into recesses (joints, grooves).
For porous, absorbent surfaces, the removal using water pressure should be tested in advance.
Where is chalk spray allowed?
ask us whether it is legal to use chalk spray on public roads. The use of spray chalk on pavements or roads is considered special use and is subject to approval. If you use spray chalk in a public space, always check with the relevant authorities in advance.
Storing and disposing of chalk spray
We recommend storing the spray in a dry place protected from direct sunlight. There are also official regulations for the storage of spray cans (TRG 300).
A few points should also be noted regarding disposal:
- Spray cans that are not completely empty can be disposed of at a hazardous waste collection centre (EAK-No. 150104)
- Completely empty spray cans can be disposed of in the conventional tinplate recycling.
