Products for technology – Gaffa AT205 aluminium tape
Aluminium tape is also known by technicians as "Black Tak" or "Black Wrap" – the self-adhesive aluminium foil is suitable for reliable sealing and shielding against unwanted light leakage.
Alu tape: properties, application, details
Adhesive
The tape is coated with a high-quality pressure-sensitive adhesive (acrylate). The aluminium tape initially has low initial adhesion . The advantage of this is that it is very easy to stick on , the adhesive tape can be repositioned over a long period of time and adhesive errors can be easily corrected. The adhesive reacts to pressure and, once pressed down, sticks with medium to high adhesion. It is oil and acid resistant. The aluminium tape can be removed from technical devices and equipment without leaving any residue.
Heat and cold
The wide temperature range is astonishing, regardless of whether it is heat or cold. The aluminium tape is highly heat-resistant and cold-resistant, allowing it to adhere at temperatures of up to 200°C and in low temperatures down to -20°C.
Colour: matt black aluminium foil
For discreet covering, the aluminium tape is coated in matt black. The surface does not reflect and is also impervious to scattered light.
Length and width
The heat-resistant aluminium tape is 25 m long and 50 mm wide. The film thickness is 0.09 mm. One roll weighs 0.31 kg.
No tools required
Aluminium adhesive tapes can be easily torn off by hand, no tools, scissors or cutters are required. It is flexible and adaptable to shape and can be easily applied to difficult areas as well as around edges, curves and corners. For protection, the adhesive layer is protected with a foil (release paper) on the roll.
Flammability
The adhesive tape is flame-resistant and fireproof at high temperatures . It has a thermal conductivity of approx. 230 W/m.K.
Good to know: The adhesive tape film is not corrosion-free.
